Yeah i totally agree. I mean i'm sure some people forgot about the film "amazing spiderman". The 56:53 scene refers to what happened in the second movie (u already know what i'm talking about)
Tom's Peter did have an Uncle Ben and he did give the responsibility speech back when he died. This was referenced in Civil War by Peter to Tony. His Aunt was just restating it here (using the original comic wording instead of how his Uncle said it) to remind him of it which is why Peter quickly responds to her with an "I know" signaling that he remembers his uncles words through hers.
I always found the Goblin's monologues about gods and power in the first Spider-Man movie to be rather cheesy. But they just seemed to have more resonance now in this movie. Maybe because it's been 20 years, and we've now had literal gods abusing their powers in the MCU that adds more weight to Goblin's words.

Did you notice what MJ was wearing in that last shots in the coffee shop? She was still wearing the Black Dalia Necklace that Peter bought her in the previous movie. So she remembers something on some level... Thanks for the fun, emotional reaction!
@@angelherrera7108 I don’t think that’s how the magic works. When they were talking in the coffee shop if I remember correctly Peter points out her injury and she gives a different explanation for it meaning her memories are warped to forget all her past events with Peter
When i watched the movie premiere in December and i heard the line ''With great power, comes great responsibility'' i knew May was going to die. This line is cused man...
Alright, so there was already some version of nanotechnology in the Raimi trilogy, but not nearly as able to be shown off as the MCU can do it. It's mentioned in the first one that Norman Osborn worked on it, and in the second movie Oscorp funded Otto's work, and he mentioned that there was some type of nanochip involved with the Tentacles.
The fact that Wilhelm did most of the stunts at his age now is incredible Also this version of Peter Parker has lost so many loved ones His parents Uncle Ben Tony stark Now aunt may And everyone else who knows and loves him have no memories of him now so he's basically alone now until he tells MJ and need who he is And the Spiderman suit he makes at the end is like a blend of Tobey's Andrews and his all put together
I think it's interesting that the end of the Tony Stark (TS) Spiderman suits symbolizes the "training wheels" coming off, which when he first started wearing the TS Suits it booted up stating "training wheels protocol initiated". So now he no longer needs assistance being Spiderman, he knows how to sacrifice it all like Tony did, and what it means being a hero. He is now Spiderman.
i love this one a lot and i love how they treat each other like their brothers and like how Toby's spiderman being the older brother and stopping the younger brother Tom's spiderman from killing goblin also love Doc Oct also originally thought happy would die and him being like peter's uncle and tell him that famous line but didn't think it would be aunt may and love how tom hollands spider man designed his new suit after his brothers suits
Congrats on getting here you guys. This is a milestone and the best tribute to the last 20 years of Spider-Man. Such an emotional film. I knew we’d see the other spidermen in this movie before it came out bout I still shouted with joy in the cinema along with everyone else attending. Perfect spidy movie
One of my my favorite things about this movie is the impact that Norman Osbourne has on the MCU’s version of Spider-Man. We see him in the first scenes in the original trilogy, and it blows my mind that he would ultimately become the catalyst for Tom Hollands version to grow into the Spider-Man that we all know and love. We were led to believe that Tom had already had his “Great power comes great responsibility” moment prior to homecoming. But in this universe, it turned out to be aunt May instead. This provides such a great link between the franchises and really glues everything together so well. In a way, the whole MCU trilogy up to this point was Spider-Man’s origin story.
I've seen this film 4 times already but last night I went to see it again in the theater with the extra footage and my eyes are still puffy from crying so hard. It was worth the rewatch and I really enjoyed the extra scenes, I won't spoil what was new but If you get a chance to rewatch it do it, even the extra scene at the very end is different now because Dr. Strange already came out.
I forget where I saw this explained, but Peter still being able to move his body while he was astral projected outside his body was because of his spider-sense. Either the director or one of the script writers said this in an interview a few months ago.
when doctor strange says "you need to understand that this means everyone who knows- who loves you... we would have no memory of you" that means dr strange also loves peter and idk thats just very special
I honestly want a marvel movie where a hero either rebels or just doesn’t help anyone anymore because the way the people treat heroes after they saved them 100’s of times😂
Honestly, it’s time he grows up as Spider-Man. He’s been hand fed everything to him and he really needed a massive push to get to the next level. I was hoping that push would have happened around Endgame but this works.
Him being "spoon-fed" is probably why I love the Holland trilogy so much. "Homecoming" was essentially a John Hughes teen movie with Spider-Man in it. So, i think it's appropriate that his trilogy really is this story-arc for him "growing up" and "graduating" to becoming the Spider-Man we all recognize. The notion of him having suits made for him, and being able to rely on the Avengers, I saw as essentially him being coddled by his parents or teachers. When you're a kid, more often than not, you are essentially being handed all the tools you need to get through your adolesence, and prepare you for adulthood. But it was all still true to comic-book lore where Peter would have things gifted to him (suits or whatever), but those were later in his Spider-Man career, which is what the MCU Spidey paid homage to until "No Way Home." But when he loses Aunt May, and makes the conscious decision to have everyone forget him, that's him finally growing up; he's emancipated from his "parent" and "teacher" figures, and strikes out on his own. Instead of "adulthood", it's him being the classic Spider-Man. I love that him becoming the "classic" Spider-Man is something that happens over a few years, as opposed to simply the first movie.
Yeah but I think they went a little overkill with him. Yeah other incarnations have it rough compared to MCU Peter but he has now literally lost everything, friends family, identity. They need a 4th movie and at least give him something back.
@@digitaladventurer2142 I agree that it's overkill. But it seems like some Spidey fans aren't happy unless Peter Parker is just one small step away from living in a dumpster filled with medical waste. :p
btw notice how in phase 4 it is turning to comic book outfit accuracy, wanda's outfit in wandavision, peter's suit in this movie, hawk eye's outfit in haweye, etc.
Among all the great things about this movie, I love the way that they inverted the entire series with some of the plot beats here. We thought we were getting the endcap to Tom Holland's trilogy, but they set it up where this trilogy is just his origin story. Aunt May gives the "Great Power" speech. Peter is without Stark Tech and having to make his own suit. He's in the crappy apartment. He's even more resolute about keeping his identity a secret. I also really like the way they used Andrew Garfield here. He's almost like a stand-in for the fans of the TASM movies at times, feeling down on himself and like he doesn't quite measure up to the others. And then just the maturity of the writing for this movie. The fact that in the third act, amid the crazy action, they take two separate instances to just chill and let the three Spideys talk to each other, understand each other, learn from each other. They each get significant character development. You just don't see that kind of stuff in the MCU very often. It's brilliant. This movie is so, so, so, so good.
There are definitely good things about this film. It's a fun watch. You have to admit the entire premise is ridiculous. Two very intelligent people couldn't have a ten minute conversation prior to casting a world altering spell, to plan the parameters. Also as HISHE aptly pointed out, Strange could've just cast a spell to make people forget Mysterio - done, sorted. Lol. It took a silly spell, a trilogy and many other film appearances, but at least Peter is where he's supposed to be now - your working class, friendly neighbourhood Spiderman.
Couple of differences with the heroes with their identities known is they weren’t labeled as killers of a great “hero” (Mysterio). Also, they were pretty set up (living) and not staying at their aunts trying to get further in life (college and such). Last point…he’s still a kid. Love the reactions but wondered why you couldn’t pause to go to bathroom. Got my “JUSTINNN”
Since it's been nine months since I saw this in the theater on opening night, it's an absolute joy to see first-time reactions to this again, and I can always rely on you two for fun, emotional, genuine reactions. Even though I have seen the movie seven times, I still get misty and choke up at the same scenes that got you guys. 😥 Such a fun, powerful, gut-wrenching, exciting film!! Spider-Man has been my favorite since my first comic at age seven, and this movie was everything to me. Great reaction as always!!
This is for me at least the best of Phase 4. The theater erupted a lot with all the screaming with all the returning characters, Tobey and Andrews entrance being the biggest one Andrew's gwen redemption saving MJ, William Dafoe's acting in this is his best ever MAYBE. and it was still a Tom Holland film, This was not a Tobey or Andrew movie at all, they were supportive characters but they still had a good amount of screentime.
How she didnt pause it while you left is beyond me... Also fun fact, in the comics, Ned is actually the Hob goblin so they could be setting that up for the next movie arc. We did see the other two Spider-Man fight their best friends. I wonder too if all the people in all the universes' will forget who Peter is. That would kind of suck for the other two Peter Parkers lol.
I mean, that's on him too. I can't fathom reacting to something like an MCU movie for the first time and deciding I need to take a bathroom break without pausing the movie, lol
@@ry.the.stunner - Well, from what I have observed, most of the time with these, it is a "First Time Watching" for Jane only, but not for Justin - usually he's already seen it, but she hasn't so he probably isn't as concerned about it since he usually has already seen the movie anyways. However, I agree 100% with all the comments on here about there was no legitimate reason why it wasn't paused, seems like it would have been so easy to do - the only thing I could think of as a legitimate reason for it was maybe it was a live stream reaction during the actual recording, so maybe he didn't want to interrupt the viewers?? Other than that, no reason I could think of not to pause it. But, on the other hand, it's not like you can pause in the theater, and sometimes when you go out to the movies, you still have to take a bathroom break, and if you got to go, you got to go, and you'll miss a few minutes of it, been there many times myself.
@@James-nr2hi Yeap, Andrew is a Oscar-Emmy worthy actor with multiple nominations and easily the best one and I don’t see Tom Holland ever getting a nomination but he isn’t a bad actor, he gave great performances as Spider-Man in all the movies and in this one he surpassed Andrew performance on TSM2 and Tobey he’s the worse one, he was good in Brothers 2009 but that’s it, his performances as Spider-Man was always so bad and cringe.

Bro.. when a movie can make you go from joy to crying and to joy then to crying and then back to joy and crying followed by joy and more crying and then ending with joy, you know that's a GOOD movie!
It was so dope how they used all three of the Tom Holland movies as his origin story. And Tobey was mentioning his back problem because in the first movie he hurt his back when he felt on the car in the alley
This movie did an amazing job of wiping the slate clean and setting the stage for a more comics-accurate MCU Spider-Man. I'm guessing the next MCU Spider-Man movie will be about Peter getting the symbiote suit, but I doubt Tom Hardy will be involved since Sony is doing it's own thing and building it's own shared universe.
Such a wonderful reaction from you both! I loved your spidey journey, and that it is so obvious that you love the character - and these movies. I cried right alongside you every single time ❤I LOVE that they gave us Tobey and especially Garfield (my Spidey) back so much!
I thought it was just me that got unexpectedly and suddenly super angry and emo at them accusing May of child endangerment but watching jane’s face go through like angry tears and balling up her fist and like a “shake it off” look..I was like “nope, not just me”
I watched only once in theaters for this movie. Just once. I can't deal with the death of May and the ending where everyone forgotten Peter. Great movie with a sad ending.
@48:00 the meme was actually the first scene these three did together but it wasn’t this one. As soon as they had all three of them on set they had them all get in their spider gear and reenact the meme picture. This was the first time these three met I think.
I cringed when I got to that part. He goes to the bathroom at the worst time. This is why I don’t like using the restroom when I’m watching a new movie wether it’s in theaters or at home. Still loved the reaction. 🤦♂️😂
Awesome! Just found your channel and I'm subscribing. This movie is a masterpiece. Idk if you guys heard about the rerelease version, but one of the deleted scenes which I thought was beautiful was at the end when Peter is telling MJ and Ned that they're going to forget who he is, MJ offers to be apart of the spell too so that everyone forgets her, but y'know Peter has to decline cuz he wants his friends to go to college. I wish they kept that scene in the original.
Also, the Sony/Disney dispute over Spider-Man happened before this movie. Per the original deal, Sony gets most of the profits from the Tom Holland Spider-Man films, but when Far From Home came out and was a big hit, Disney wanted a bigger cut. Sony said no and threatened to end the deal entirely if Disney wouldn't stick to its terms. It basically took a drunk Tom Holland personally calling Disney's CEO and begging him to keep to the original deal.
I don't know if you caught it or not, but in the scene where they were still in their cells talking about the plan to cure them all, Norman did the "I'm something of a scientist myself" meme.
It's not so much a meme as it is something he said in the first series, and that was turned into a meme. So he was more or less just repeating a phrase he said in his series.
I enjoyed this movie so much. For my personal experience, Spider-Man no way home is just about the closest thing to a live-action version of Spider-Man into the spider-verse. All I needed was characters like Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales etc. These three are basically like the avengers of the spider-verse now. I loved it 🕷️🕸️
The "backproblems" Tobeys Peter had its a reference to reallife Tobey actually hurt his back before filming the second Spider Man movie and was almost recast (Jake Gyllenhaal, who appeared in Far From Home).
You can see it in the start before Wong brings up "forgetting" how bad Strange felt not being able to help Peter, the dude actually liked this kid, probably one of the only other super that he did honestly. Also: Spidey-sense might be one of the most broken powers in Marvel canon when you really dig into it, the ones who have talked about it best are the people over at the channel Fact Fiend [ Wiki Weekends | The Spider-Sense Is Absurdly Broken / Spider-Man is Amazing At Poker (The Limits of the Spider-Sense) ] you guys should really check em out to get a good laugh about how comic book Spiderman is just insane.
The way the Green Goblin works in Sam Raimi universe, heck possibly in any iteration, is that Norman Osborn and the Goblin are split personality. When Norman willingly comes to Peter for help, that was really Norman Osborn. But the attack at the apartment, that was Goblin's persona taking over Norman, springing the trap.
idk if you guys now this but almost every electronic device that produce or records music, movies, recordings, etc, has this amazing feature called "THE PAUSE BUTTON".
Here’s the thing with Daredevil, the show was already set in the MCU and Disney been owning MARVEL since 2009, Disney provided Netflix with those MARVEL shows with a contracted as a Netflix property. The MARVEL shows on Netflix were set in the MCU allowing them to acknowledge events from the movies however they couldn’t really crossover yet until that contract was up
It’s so stupid, they miss so much and they have the ability to just pause the movie, it’s not like in theaters. It will mess with the pacing when you pause a movie but better than miss a lot of dialogue, acting and all of that. 🤦🏽♂️
I find it interesting how the majority of us find the green goblin from the first Spiderman as such an evil and endearing villain, whereas, the goblin in The Amazing Spiderman 2 killed the love of his life and there's no mention of that in this movie. Obviously the nostalgia, acting, and comics play a huge role in choosing the villains for this movie. But can ya'll imagine how crazy it would've been of they brought the green goblin from The Amazing Spiderman 2 back?? The resolution just like all these villains had in this movir wouldve been amazing but I get its also a Tom Holland movie so Andrew Garfield wouldve taken the show. (He almost did this movie)
1) Kirsten Dunst was MJ in Tobey's series, not Kristen Stewart 2) At the end, Venom got sent back to his universe just like all the other villains and the other two Spider-Mans. He didn't get snapped. This movie takes place after everyone returned from the Snap.
For what it's worth, the Netflix Daredevil was always considered to be in continuity with the MCU. There are MCU easter eggs littered throughout the Daredevil series.
Actually they didn’t all come back. The actor who played sandman didn’t. That’s why he was always sand and the scene of him being curried is reused footage from spiderman 3

Mark 1:14:01. There are movies, television series episodes, and literature, that magically treat movies, et cetera, as Pocket Universes! (Or dimensions.) In, "Bewitched", Tabitha, used to put herself into her favorite illustrated children's books, or take the characters out of them. The series, "Once Upon A Time", was all about the concept. So, Justin's allegory is like essentially correct. 🤔
So let this one go on record as the time Justin had the reddest nose and Jane's eyes vanished through squinted tears. Seriously a great reaction you two!!!!!
Did I hear right that Jane asked if "Kristen Stewart" was in the movie as the other M.J.? If you have not yet seen it yet, I highly recommend you guys watch Hawkeye and also go back and watch Venom 1 & 2. I remember the theater went totally nuts with cheers and gasps when Daredevil appeared. LOL, but then there were other showings I went to when almost nobody in the theater but me knew who Daredevil was. It was just so funny seeing the great divide in viewers who knew and who did not know. I would've liked if the deleted scene with Matt Murdock stayed in the original theatrical cut, but I also understand why they cut it. I do admit, I still think Dr. Strange should've known better than to do the spell in the first place or he should've stopped the spell as soon as Peter started talking. But of course, then there would've been no movie, LOL! I gotta admit, I would still love to know what the implications are, if any, of the events of this movie on the other Spider-Man universes and their timelines. I mean, all heroes need their villains to help forge the heroes they are destined to become. So, in a way, Dr. Strange is right the death of those villains are worth countless lives.

Lol fr almost like she's telling him to do something but what can he do?
my dream is to find a women who is like that
I could just watch all the spider-men talk for hours that was so good and Green Goblin felt more menacing than ever I loved it
Did you notice what MJ was wearing in that last shots in the coffee shop? She was still wearing the Black Dalia Necklace that Peter bought her in the previous movie. So she remembers something on some level...
Thanks for the fun, emotional reaction!
@NEP84 she has to know on some subconscious level how she got it and the meaning it has behind it. She said she was gonna figure it out anyways
@@angelherrera7108 I don’t think that’s how the magic works. When they were talking in the coffee shop if I remember correctly Peter points out her injury and she gives a different explanation for it meaning her memories are warped to forget all her past events with Peter
1:00:43 I love how they tied in the "One More Day" story line from the comics. Great execution of an iconic moment in Spidey's history.
Seeing this movie opening night was one of the best experiences of my entire life!
Every time Jane goes like "JUSTINNN" I'm like:
"He... He can't do anything to change the movie... lol"
Imagine walk out in the middle of the movie... you can just use pause...
In this film, Aunt May said the exact phrase "great power" as it was written in the original Spiderman comics.
When i watched the movie premiere in December and i heard the line ''With great power, comes great responsibility'' i knew May was going to die. This line is cused man...
Seeing this on a huge screen in a packed theater opening night was amazing. The crowd reactions with the three Spidermen were incredible.
Hearing Willem Dafoe's evil Goblin laugh in this gave me CHILLS, fucking ICONIC sound, I love it
I want so bad to see more on Andrew's darker Spider-Man when he said he stopped pulling his punches and got rageful
The fact that Wilhelm did most of the stunts at his age now is incredible
Also this version of Peter Parker has lost so many loved ones
His parents
Uncle Ben
Tony stark
Now aunt may
And everyone else who knows and loves him have no memories of him now so he's basically alone now until he tells MJ and need who he is
And the Spiderman suit he makes at the end is like a blend of Tobey's Andrews and his all put together
I watched several reactions to this movie already, but Jane and Justin are the best feelings! It's okay to feel stuff that makes you cry!
i love this one a lot and i love how they treat each other like their brothers and like how Toby's spiderman being the older brother and stopping the younger brother Tom's spiderman from killing goblin also love Doc Oct also originally thought happy would die and him being like peter's uncle and tell him that famous line but didn't think it would be aunt may and love how tom hollands spider man designed his new suit after his brothers suits
The only thing is, without Tony and Pete, I don't know what ties Happy has left to appear in other movies.
@@mage1439 maybe Fury? And possibly Murdock in future things?
@@mage1439 I never thought seeing Happy and Peter talking would make me shed a tear but this movie did it
Willem Dafoe only agreed to return if he could do his own stunts. Goblins fight scenes look so great thanks to that
Congrats on getting here you guys.

Willem scared the piss out of Tom for that shot reportedly. The laugh and smile was off script, if i recall from an interview correctly
I forget where I saw this explained, but Peter still being able to move his body while he was astral projected outside his body was because of his spider-sense. Either the director or one of the script writers said this in an interview a few months ago.
when doctor strange says "you need to understand that this means everyone who knows- who loves you... we would have no memory of you"
that means dr strange also loves peter and idk thats just very special
The fact she had to ASK which Green Goblin this was, like anyone else ever wore this suit.
I honestly want a marvel movie where a hero either rebels or just doesn’t help anyone anymore because the way the people treat heroes after they saved them 100’s of times😂
I totally agree with u
Yeah, but until super recently they're treated like heroes.
so...Hancock?
So basically you want a Green Goblin movie
That would be boring, anti-climactic, stupid and useless...
"Oh, no!"
🤣 That made me laugh super hard.
Honestly, it’s time he grows up as Spider-Man. He’s been hand fed everything to him and he really needed a massive push to get to the next level. I was hoping that push would have happened around Endgame but this works.
The whole trilogy was basically his origins whereas andrew and Toby's origins happened on their first film
@@marcw6875 no fr they say hes “finally spiderman” as if he doesnt have the choice to honestly not want to do it anymore with how everythings going
btw notice how in phase 4 it is turning to comic book outfit accuracy, wanda's outfit in wandavision, peter's suit in this movie, hawk eye's outfit in haweye, etc.
This movie is so, so, so, so good.
no
There are definitely good things about this film.

The Andrew save part was so emotional 🥺
Since it's been nine months since I saw this in the theater on opening night, it's an absolute joy to see first-time reactions to this again, and I can always rely on you two for fun, emotional, genuine reactions. Even though I have seen the movie seven times, I still get misty and choke up at the same scenes that got you guys. 😥 Such a fun, powerful, gut-wrenching, exciting film!! Spider-Man has been my favorite since my first comic at age seven, and this movie was everything to me. Great reaction as always!!
This is literally the best reaction to this movie🤣 esp 42:07 because JV went to the washroom and he was like "OH NO!"💀
This is for me at least the best of Phase 4.
“JUSTIN!!!!” Every damn time. Haha. 🤣🤣🤣
Andrew is an absolutely amazing Spider-Man and imo he’s defo the best actor of all 3 of them
Es un gran actor pero mejor q los 3 no lo es q a ti te guste mas esta bien pero se respeta tu opinión

He's easily the best at acting. Tom is a close second and Tobey is absolute dog sh*t when it comes to acting

Tom’s Spider-Man first big death was Tony. He was basically his mentor and he idolized him
I watched only once in theaters for this movie.
The BIGGEST Marvel movie moment in history and dude is in the bathroom.. LMAO

I cringed when I got to that part. He goes to the bathroom at the worst time. This is why I don’t like using the restroom when I’m watching a new movie wether it’s in theaters or at home. Still loved the reaction. 🤦♂️😂
I've seen this multiple times. And you guys still made me cry. You guys are awesome 😎

The person on the right wore the right shirt to this movie
I enjoyed this movie so much. For my personal experience, Spider-Man no way home is just about the closest thing to a live-action version of Spider-Man into the spider-verse. All I needed was characters like Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales etc.
These three are basically like the avengers of the spider-verse now. I loved it 🕷️🕸️
The "backproblems" Tobeys Peter had its a reference to reallife Tobey actually hurt his back before filming the second Spider Man movie and was almost recast (Jake Gyllenhaal, who appeared in Far From Home).
The Lego Palpatine figure was a callback to Spider-Man homecoming. It’s from the Death Star kit Ned got for them to build together. 😢
Tobe stabbed b-4- that was reference 2 when Goblin son stabbed Peter in spider man 3
idk if you guys now this but almost every electronic device that produce or records music, movies, recordings, etc, has this amazing feature called "THE PAUSE BUTTON".
Here’s the thing with Daredevil, the show was already set in the MCU and Disney been owning MARVEL since 2009, Disney provided Netflix with those MARVEL shows with a contracted as a Netflix property. The MARVEL shows on Netflix were set in the MCU allowing them to acknowledge events from the movies however they couldn’t really crossover yet until that contract was up
Mark 20:55. Okay, that moment in the previews is when he says, "crap", instead! 👍
I don’t understand why you guys don’t pause the movie when one of you leaves the room?!?!?
33:00 "Supers who get their powers by *falling into* a vat of toxic waste, they usually get their powers the very next day; or they die." -Sky High.
Idk why but it bothered me a little when the movie didn't get paused for J so we could see both reactions to Andrew coming in
1) Kirsten Dunst was MJ in Tobey's series, not Kristen Stewart
2) At the end, Venom got sent back to his universe just like all the other villains and the other two Spider-Mans.

So glad *Jane* pointed out the Legos. But I am such a dope!🥴 Although I've seen this multiple times, I didn't catch that there were actual Legos in the scene. I thought Electro was referring to Tony's equipment. Like, _Does all this equipment belong to Peter,_ and _does he know what he's doing with them?_ D'doi.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. 🙄
*Edit:* You say *Dr. Strange* should have known better, but remember at the start of their conversation he said, _"we've used this spell for a lot less." It was Peter screwing up that made things messy. Peter should have already had his exceptions list set.

Seriously a great reaction you two!!!!!
so every movie??????
