For all those saying it’s a bad deal - Wicked good cupcakes has been acquired for 350 million dollars by Hickory Farms. They must be super happy that they didn’t have to give away any equity.
How that work for Kevin dose he still get $0.45c a jar or dose he get nothing??????
I was think keep all company a better deal if their going sell it
Yes now that begs the question what happens to that 45 cents per jar?
@@jaimhaas5170 The purchasing company will buy out Kevin’s royalty, paying him a multiple of their sales up front to get him out
@@ov824 That $350 million deal included Kevin's royalty 100% sure.
Which means they sold a ton, meaning they lost tons of money.
The way Mark wanted to try some of Daymond's cupcake and he kept saying no 😂
He already had two himself
The way Mr. wonderful handed the cake down the line was hilarious.
Was looking for this comment lol
He isn't too happy about passing a cake,
Right 🤣
Timestamp?
He should of asked mark for a shipping fee for passing it to him
Danielle & Tracey: *Explaining their sales*
Mark: "Let me try yours. Let me try yours. Let me try yours!"
😂😂😂
And daymond no no
They went on to become one of Shark Tank's more successful stories. Got a great bakery, a spot at a mall and Kevin regularly promotes the product. plus they were able to repay the 75k soon after the show aired so good for them.
Someone else commented they later sold the company, I’m glad they were successful with their business. I live in MA and travel into Boston regularly, I wanna look up if they still have shops I could go to and try one of their cupcakes @
Reeallly!!!! That’s soo good to hear! After seeing this pitch I was like oh no they’re going bankrupt! So glad to hear the opposite
Still terrible, they would have done that without the deal.
@@mrhumble2937 Don't think so. The food business is very competative. It's always out with the old in with the new. If it wasn't for Kevin people would of forgotten and went on to the next piece of cake.
@@mrhumble2937 seriously. 45c in perpetuity for just $75k? Mr wonderful straight robbed them. Prob biggest robbery ive seen in the show. Look at marks reaction to them accepting that ridiculous deal
“In perpetuity”
“What’s that mean?”
“It means forever.”
Lol the mom and daughter have such a great relationship

This season was apex "Mr.Wonderful" he's fully embraced the persona, dude was honed in from the get go. He wanted a piece of this.
Turned out that they also made a deal with Mark. Mark bought 15 000 cupcakes for 75K.😂
LOL!
Really?
@@naraendrareddy273 No. It's a joke because Mark loves them.
No he didn't
This is a weird thing to randomly claim and then it being a “joke”
Kevin looked disgusted passing the jar over lol
He did

These were the days when people asked reasonable valuation. Nowadays people would ask 5 million for that.

You can see the daughter's processing the deal in her head at the end there lol
I looked this video up just to see a comment about this
She wasn’t very happy lol
@@jacklamonica4921 Well I think she's smiling her way now to the bank after they got bought for $350 mil. lol
@@ZakPapa I’m guessing that means they didn’t take the deal. They almost certainly wouldn’t have built a 350 million dollar company if they went through with the deal.
Margainalize , bring cost down by at least $0.45 and Mr.Wonderful is wicked free
better yet they got bought for 350 million
Opportunity cost
@@adrianzaldana2167 Smokes! You serious?
@@mv3380 no
@@mv3380 Idk how much it was for but Hickory Farms is huge and they bought em.
Dam, the way they all laughed after saying " practically nothing "
Much love to these two for taking off💯
When i heard that, it was like pure evil of greed from these sharks, with no regard. Ruthless.
The way they laugh at the idea of getting them nothing is just stomach turning!
Yes, but Lori and Mark tried to advise them when they came back in the tank.
They really did have a big big biggg margin problem
But the reason Kevin did that is to force them to fix their margins
Right! They could’ve fixed their margins without creating such a bleed.
and the company sold for 350 million
this was one of the most successful pitches in the history of the show
This was a very bad deal . It worked out for them but that was not based on the deal .
Lol Mark Cuban really loved those cupcake jars
I like how sharks begin a great
Compliment build them up then say
“But it’s not for me”
Kevin was so annoyed with Mark having his 4th jar in 0.5 seconds! 🤣🤣🤣
"The product is so good that I'll eat too many and get fat - so for that reason, I'm out."
😂😂
Kevin would make a perfect Gru live action actor from Despicable Me
That sync though @6:26
WGC was acquired by Hickory Farms for $14 million. Kevin was absolutely right when he said “I’m going to be very happy.”
Kevin’s deal was painful but he made these women millionaires.
YES I REASD THE COMPANY IS WORTH 14 MILLION.
Butttt Kevin had no equity, so he wouldn't have gotten paid if the company sold.
@@MAGAprincessHe still has his royalty deal with the new owners, and since they are able to produce way more he actually makes a lot more money on these cupcakes now. It was a situation where everyone won, the previous owners got paid millions for the business and Kevin still continues to make a lot off it.
Barbara called in backstage to let the producers know that she's also out.
LMAO😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Hey @2GUYS1GUN - your Barbara joke is NOT funny !! Also a LIE!
The way mr wonderful passed that jar was hilarious. NfG
The daughter asked her mom... "What's perpetuity?" 😂🤣😆

*Kevin O’Leary: Destroyer of Bakeries*
Edit: Just saw the update. SHOCKED that they made it. But very happy for them!
Do you see even in 2022 there's hundreds of different cupcake shops in small large cities. Some national chains some Mom and pops. I don't think it's stopping anytime soon
why.....alot a those companies that don't get deals on shark tank make it
Shocked? Why? They were already doing hundreds of thousands on their own....not to mention, hickory farms bought their company for a reportedly 350 million
@@davidleonard7439 Who is reporting that besides TH-cam comments? No one is providing a source, even when asked. I can only find two sources that even make mention of the price, one of which says it was an undisclosed value and the other which reports $15M. That's *much* more believable and aligns with a reddit comment which says the company's net worth was $10M at the time of the sale.
Mr wonderful passing that jar was so funny to me lmao
I was shocked when they countered with 40c lol
@Duval In The Wall - Did you get over your "shock?" What is so funny about your "shocking" 40 cent comment?
@@warriormanmaxx8991
Nope still shocked
I actually ordered cupcakes from them a few years ago and they were delicious.
How delicious are we talking about because I’m tempted to buy some 🤔
Wicked delicious
@@nofsgiven3855 worth the cost, that’s for sure
@@nofsgiven3855 definitely buy some
Is is worth the cost?
Shark Tank viewers must be really rolling in dough. The Daisy Cakes became a huge hit, each cake being about $70! I buy cakes from a Brooklyn bakers for $7. Now this cupcake thing. Their only benefit if any is that they should be more shelf-stable than other products so that you can have that treasured cupcake after 100 years or a nuclear war.
3:25 lmaooo I love that interaction haha like little kids
Mark and Daymond are little kids at 3:20 🤣😭
Why did they accept his deal? Losing 45 cents on every cupcake for life just for a 75k loan? Their friends and family can come together and loan them that…. But, I do get the connections and exposure a Shark will bring to their company.
He’s got clout
Watch the update
It’s more than just money, think of how much money some companies pay for marketing and advertising
Damn how rich are your friends and family?
@@the_bob_147 how poor are your friends? 75k is not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things. And I said from friends and family, plural. Not just one.
Theres a reason Kevin gets the middle sit.
After watching this video I immediately went and purchased two jars they look delicious

This was actually one in a million in which Barbara would have invested
Indeed. She's quite big on food businesses.
@@NitsP2208 and underdogs
and for that reason she was out
I didn't show up for work today, and for that reason, I'm out.
Barbera has invested in 130 companies so far. She has backed off a bit in later seasons so she gets this im out meme. Daymond should be the one with the meme
So funny when it showed them passing the jar down to mark
Daughter accent is strong
Daymon: "I love it so much, I'm out"
Bruh, you pulling a Barbra? lol
He Offered a Fixed Amount (Not percentage). The best move the Mother and Daughter can do is to add an additional $1.40 Mark-up for the Cupcakes. Which I don't think will hurt their business if they're gonna have good marketing and talk to people who can extend shelflife and give them Patent to be able to sell them at grocery stores, price clubs, and coffee shops.
This is one of those feel good episodes that I can come back to and rewatch.
He said let me try yours 😂😂😂
The daughrer is cute. "What's perpuity?
Mom: It means forever
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The daughter has a much stronger accent than the mom
That’s cuz it’s fake lol
“Get bakin” lolol 😂
Can't believe they countered with a royalty lol
Recently they sold the company at very high price but Kevin didn't get money because he don't have any equity in the business but he earns over 1 million from royalty
@@Asif-io6mh Not having equity doesn’t mean anything, in an acquisition deal the purchasing company will buy out Kevin’s royalty upfront. That’s why he loves doing royalty deals. The value of a company’s equity may go up or down, but a Royalty based on dollar figure will remain constant.
That's true I expected him the counter with 20 to 25 cents a cup
@@ov824 my dog...it means EVERYTHING. Obviously, he didn't have the foresight 12 years ago, seeing this company sell and have the kind of exit it had. His royalty was NOTHING in comparison to what he would have made on the exit, if he had some equity in the company. Wicked Good Cupcakes retained 100% equity of the company. They sold over 250 thousand in the first week this episode aired. They were able to swiftly pay his loan back and that .45 cents per jar, was nothing to them. He could have made MILLIONS MORE from this deal, if he had equity
I love these cupcakes!!
The daughter has such a look over Gret in her face after making the deal.
What
"Look over Gret in" should read "look of regret on"
Excellent work and a deal you won't regret
Mark just eating more and more lmao and the "pass it over here" lol
I’m from Massachusetts and I love wicked good cupcakes
7:43 is that the most evil moment of this show? 😂
Mr. Wonderful knocked the accent right off of her once she heard that offer lol
You also sell with the low margin wholesale to get the brand out there. Those people start ordering direct.
Mark is so funny I love him
No way they were acquired for $350 million. They were acquired for an undisclosed amount.
I agree,,,no way 350 million...
And they kicked butt after!!!
I love these duo

Mark and daymonds relationship is GOLD.
Let me try yours...let me try yours.

Lol. Like two brothers.
Mark’s such a flirt.
Thats the 500th cupcake in a jar business in the US alone.
The daughter didnt look really happy with the deal.
Boston supporting the locals. Wicked Cool!
The daughter is so cool!! I love her punk style and tattoos! She’s obviously very intelligent too!
lori iS ALWAYS LAUGHING WHEN KEVIN MAKES OFFER
Barbara called them to say she loved the product and for that reason she's out
@3:29 Robert: children please!
It means forever, OMG hahahaha
how do they ship them? probably spending crazy money
it’s great they got bought out but tbh this was a bad offer cuz the had little margin and Kevin was drastically cutting their margin even lower to make more and plus the .50cents forever is just adding extra baggage
8:57 Mark Cuban wishes it was him
They sold for $350 million to Hickory Farms man they could’ve made so much from the equity
Mark inhaled that cake :D
Lori looks so young and spry
kevins deal is pretty good
$.45 is actually a better deal than 30%equity
Mark said I m just here for cakejars
From Bangladesh❤️
I think in an update I saw the founders said they got acquired for 40 million? Not 350. Both founders maintained equity, so yeah in the process they may have lost a bit in royalties to Kevin, but I'm sure they're doing just fine lol.
That was funny, Mark wanting to try the daymond cupcake but he won't share lol 😆 🤣
I wish Barbra was here. This is right up her alley.
I would love to be humble billionare like mark cuban even if I don't have a billion ❤ I love this man
Don't be fooled, he's ruthless.
I lost huge respect for him when he got into NFTs, that's such a ponzi scheme.
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior loves y’all so much ✝️❤️
Daymond was looking snappy this episode 😊
They were better off borrowing the $75,000 from a line of credit/bank.
Exactly. It’s just 75k, not 750k.
It’s not just about the money, you’re getting exposure from the show and a shark who has many connections.
They made 350 million and kevin made a million!
@@rauldana7435 true. And that 75k is pocket change for Kevin lol
Don't you understand...
They sold 250+ THOUSAND, the first week this episode aired, from them being on shark tank. They were able to pay back his 75K in a matter of months.. Between the media exposure and having a brilliant investor like Kevin behind your business, you know what the end result is???
Them selling to Hickory Farms for 350 Million dollars.
They would STILL be sweating over them jars, baking cupcakes today, had they just took a 75K line of credit from the bank.
Oh man I hoped
they get into a mother-daughter screaming match in that accent that would have been hilarious
I'm trying to make her daughter scream
I heard they tasted better than Daisy Cakes
I remember being at the Quincy Market in Boston years ago, I saw a cupcake stand with a lifesize Mr Wonderful cutout next to the stand etc. Not sure if this is the same deal or company but for the hour i was having lunch i didn't notice a single person buy anything from them. Either way, hope they were successful.
The business was sold for 350 million eventually and Kevin collected more than a millions dollars in royalties so they did pretty well.
that boston accent is... 'special'.
