That's crazy how I hear this song and I'm filled with these memories rather than simply playing Sonic mega collection. Just goes to show how nostalgia for games is more about the good times you had as a child, and the games youre "nostalgia" for are just a reminder of that.

I found Genesis Collection and a couple other old collections for PS2 and stuff just so I could play the classic Sonic games, but when I saw Mega Collection at a Bookman’s for really cheap, I couldn’t pass it up. I’ll occasionally just throw it in to listen to this, but it is also a definitive collection of Sonic’s classic history.

Man. Winter nights, in this little plastic chair I'd had since I was tiny, growing up we weren't exactly the wealthiest so that was my gaming chair. Sonic was really a gateway to a lot more than just well known gaming mascots, the extras made me want to read comics, the games in the collection made me appreciate older games in general and this music taught me at a young age to just relax and enjoy something for once. That was big as a super energetic ADHD kid. This really does take me back to sitting in that chair, eating Kids Cuisine that my mom just brought me and wrapping up in a blanket.

I really feel it was formative in my desire to get to know _things_ on a close, kind of personal level, even (especially) when I knew it was something only I really found that special or cool or interesting. I applied that feeling to soo many things, growing up, but I'm sure it was this song which made that _part of me!_
