Adding workers still leaves a giant chunk of dead time since there's no decisions to be made when you have only workers and no resources. They should have kept it to 6 workers but everyone starts with 300 or 400 minerals so you can choose to either expand or throw down a building in the first 2 seconds. That would help get the game going, and make it more strategic. With 12 workers cheese is a lot harder to pull off, with 6 workers and a free "start your proxy rax" cash infusion, you'll get a lot more interesting interactions early.
So happy the bonus game was on Metalopolis. Loved that map. 5 Gateway walls on the effective 3rd base was the only way to stop it being harassed at all times by zerg. Good times.

You're living the good life, no school, watching Saturday morning cartoons. Your older sister turned the channel at 11 AM to the teen bop show of the time, Save by The Bell, until noon on NBC. The clock hits 12 and suddenly a show full of attractive looking black Americans in party-club attire dancing to R&B comes on your screen. If you are black, you get super excited because it is your people's time to shine. If you were a white kid like me, you don't know what you are seeing but it's definitely exciting and engaging, and you start to move your body even you don't know how to dance. Soul Train was a show that brought a lot of joy to a lot of people in America, and let the world see Black American culture celebrated on mainstream broadcast television.
Yeah something like force field is a bit lame, but this was way more interesting to watch than modern games. Dark taking a third base at the 20 minute mark doesn't seem like a big deal, but I find it cooler that each base is worth more. Instead of a mining camp its more like an actual base. Plus it was nice seeing games where the first thing to happen wasn't the exact same Oracle or Reaper flying over to poke a few drones and then we move on like it never happened.
I would love to see how different we'd play the wol meta once players really got good at it. Forge fast expand, for example, seems really wild. Can you really not hold the expansion with just a zealot??
