Ivana, lovely socks! Your projects continue to inspire me. I am also not a fan of super wash merino. Your shawl that you wove at the end of the video is lovely. My favorite part of a weaving project is watching as it is pulled off the loom.

I'm having a day where I'm feeling a bit low and watching your videos is always so calming so I hope you don't mind me popping up and commenting on some of your older videos. I tend to watch on my TV now and keep forgetting to come back and leave comments, but I'm rewatching on my laptop today so if you suddenly have a little flurry of comments from me this is why. Thank you for sharing all of your beautiful makes, especially the socks and the clip in your PJs I think you looked beautiful but could see that it felt uncomfortable for you to share the clip, so extra thank yous for being vulnerable and trusting us with that. Hi Ivana, good job on the socks, very organized, I still have to start all my sock knitting for Christmas, my goal is 4 pairs.i ordered dk weight yarn, which will hopefully come soon. I think my favourite of your bunch was the blue and cream ones! I just finished a pair of dk weight at 5 pm on my sons birthday yesterday, which was ok as he came over at 5:30 to pick up pizza dough for his pizza party! But my thumb is still in recovery! Great to see your podcast,I alway look forward to them. Just helped a friend take a homespun rug off the loom at our weavers guild and it turned out so beautiful,all natural colours of local wool, single ply, which packed much better than I thought it would, and she did a great job weaving it, the edges were so even, and she was so thrilled! You made me smile while reading about you sock deadline adventure. I really suggest starting on the gifts earlier in the year... by doing this, I felt so relaxed and without any pressure. I think I will do the same for next year... kind of plan most of the presents as soon as I can, and gently make them throughout the year.
That handspun rug in natural wool sounds lovely.

I'm happy to be sitting together in our pyjamas Ivana. You are always beautiful. I can't wrap my mind around how you have knitted so many pairs of socks. I know they are DK and faster, but still. I'm going to try to find a DK pattern to try it for myself. Your family is fortunate to be receiving such beautiful gifts from your heart.

Oh my word... those socks... beautiful. And thank you for sharing your experience with Cascades Heritage. I have two over here in different colors. I might knit it together and make a very simple stockinette cowl. Or, I could also pair each with Mohair yarn. I will have to see. Now, I'm getting excited here... 😊
I also have some in my stash and I'm thinking to make a sweater out of it. ❤️

Really keen to see that you use the afterthought heel method for your socks: I've seen this on another blog too. I am trying to practice making socks so that I master them, but always get stuck at the heels and it goes into hybernation. So, I'm going to have a go with DK yarn and the afterthought heel, to see if this works for me. Wonderful chickens and goats :)

So far, I always go for the afterthought heel... this also allows me to easily redo the heel in case there is some wear and tear. Good luck with your socks.

The yarn held up great... the reed I used is 5 dpi / 20 over 10cm. ❤️

I get so excited when I see you have uploaded 🤭🥰 I just love everything. You have become the foot whisperer Ivana, that’s a lot of socks!! I’m 55 next month (so funny!) and your nieces gift set made me go “ooohh” I have those yarns in those colours so I’m inspired to knit them next year. Those notebooks are gorgeous. I’m more digital these days but stationary was such a love once. Btw you in the morning 💪🏻💕 needing glasses more often is something I’m not handling well 😣 I’m trying to be more amused than annoyed - it’s a WIP!! That shawl for your mums friend is so lovely, how special. Giving hand made gifts is something I’ve always done and loved, so much love in the items. This is my first time watching your TH-cam channel and I really liked it. I will watch all your older videos in the next couple of days, and I'm going to try doing an after-thought heel like you do. My question is, all those socks are very heavy wool and should be super warm, but it looks like you live in a warm climate. Does it get cold enough there to wear thick wool socks?
Welcome to the channel, I'm glad you found me.
Yes, Cyprus does have warm climate, but we do get cold in the winter. The houses here were made to keep the heat out and they don't have heating. Also, our floors tend to be tiles, so our feet do get cold, especially when we are inside.
