Nice one Eric, good timing getting the Spanish last. My whinging last time about the lack of fish in Okinawa paid off this week, as I managed a surprise Spanish on the jig! About spicing up your vids - it's always good to see you guys heading off to fish new/other spots now and again. Keep up the good work!
Thank you. Nice work on the Spanish! I will try to get new spots, if I can just land a fish. :) I've done two donut trips to Kingscliff and another to Woody Head, haha.
Great video, i have a stealth and as much i love to do this i cant due to work, weather condition in the Caribbean. Your video still makes me feel i am out there with you. I love the videos, keep making them 😊💯😎☀️ Cheers mate
OK so gonna keep hacking at me about the spanish/king difference?? 😅 I’m trying to figure out of a what the South African guys call a “couta” is a king or a spanish????? Thought they were all same same. When you talk about lockdowns? Are they closing fishing or is this a covid style lockdown thing?? Cheers man, you got the freezer stocked good that day, thick fish = good fillets!: edit to add, Your vids are fine way they are? I just enjoy yak fishing period, your target is mackerel for the table but do you ever go after other fish when Mackerel have moved off?
It's definitely an interesting topic. :-) I thought for sure "couta" was spanish (scomberomorus commerson), but could be wrong. Wikipedia says "South Africa: king mackerel, couta, cud" - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narrow-barred_Spanish_mackerel#Common_names I say so many wrong things haha. I meant "closure" when I said lockdown. Remnants from covid times perhaps. We've got a "no take" restriction on spanish first 3 weeks of February and first 3 weeks of March. I'd love to catch more demersals and other fish, but tend to mostly go for mackerel and tuna. When they go, I normally go too (Canada, Sweden). Occasionally I get a snapper or two during shoulder season, but that's about it for demersals. The other guys seem to focus on Snapper and Mulloway/Jewfish during winter.
Epic, great work, top video 👍👍👍
Brother keep up the good work!!!!! The fishing and solitude are totally amazing. Super like.
Thank you, thank you!
