There's a lot of interesting dialgoue interactings between Yi and Gou Mang in the intro that reveals more on what's going on in this world and the protagonist's time when he was a member of the Council.

Nine Sols as a full game will be released in Summer 2023 (Winter 2023 if you're at the southern hemisphere), featuring 8 more bosses like Gou Mang.

Personally, a choice like that would be good, since if the dialogue of "you don't deserve death" exists for a reason, maybe the idea would work.
