My 2.5 year old daughter loves watching you work! Spends the whole time asking “what is he doing?” At the end of the video she claps and says “yay he made it!” Thanks for the inspiration and knowledge!
These are absolutely gorgeous! As someone who is a printer and bookbinder by trade, I have thoroughly enjoyed this video and I am not ashamed to admit I am a bit envious of some of the tools you have. I do all of my sewing manually on a sewing frame. :) Stay awesome! Much respect from Slovenia.
When I started watching I thought I envied your wood working tools collection. Now thats its been five years, I find myself much more about your leather and paper working set up. Simply incredible your collection there Jimmy. Respect. 👊
I love it! I have a Kingsley leather stamping machine identical to yours. I rescued it from the scrap yard 5 yrs ago. I finally have got it rebuilt an running again. I now have a whole new world of ideas to put it to good use. Nice notepads too Jimmy.
A Kingsley Machine! I used to have one for marking wire. Type was curved, different sizes for different gauges. Had blocks to hold the wire in place. Similar if not same machine. Cloth covered two conductor wiring (no ground wire). Gave it to a friend that had a use for it after it sat unused for several years. Great channel!!
Great to see all the different machines in use, shows how many processes are involved! Love the do-dad that rounds off the corners! Unrelated to this video but thanks to you, Bob and David I’m pushing the button to get my first ever welder today - never done it before but can’t wait to get started! Thanks for the inspiration! Stay safe 🤜
I'm going to say it! I'm am jealous as hell! You do everything from ice picks to making books. Many moons ago you began in a small underground shop with hardly any room to move. Look at you now! You have it all! The world is yours Tony!
Lovely, just so efficient, compact and so obviously useful and all made with 19th century technology, although then the sewing would likely be treadle powered. Sometimes the traditional tools, methods and products are better than any modern variant. Thank you for sharing!
Jimmy look very nice. Jimmy love all the old tools you use. Very awesome to see them in uses again. Very nice design there my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Can't wait to see ur next videos. Keep Making. God Bless.
Felicitaciones! Sinceramente aprecio mucho el dominio que tienes de las distintas técnicas de trabajo y la capacidad para manejar cualquier tipo de materiales. Por lejos, un Maestro Artesano. Abrazo. Germán, Montevideo, Uruguay.
Good lord man you have at least one of every tool ever made i do believe. I'm so envious. These little note books are really freakin cool. I love leather
Just before the cat walked across the table, there was a squeaking noise--since the video was sped up, I think it was the cat (George?) meowing. Sounded like a mouse squeaking ;-)
Those are awesome, Jimmy! Thanks for showing us the back side of the paper cutter. I was curious if there was a "stop block" back there....and boom, there it was! Thanks for sharing, Brother! I totally want one by the way.🙂
Setting up the type reminded me of 9 th grade print shop and setting pica . We had kids who were "rats" in the class , so we would wait for them to put the last letter in the print set up then we would " accidently " bump into the tray spilling type all over the floor. They would quickly change their ways . Nobody likes a RAT , Snitches get stitches. Anyway great little book there , Pocket sized and available when that GREAT idea hits you. Stay well Taylor , Willie and you my brother
@@heyimamaker I'm in love with machines from the early era. You could take it apart, learn how it works and fix it if needed. And that particular machine has hardly changed at all over the years.
I enjoy seeing your ice picks pop up in other youtubers channels you guys are great keep up the good work -- looking forward to some more leatherman mods you are even a legend in the leatherman mod group on Facebook I’m in .
Seeing the stacks of paper and leather at 4:10 makes me think that would make a cool Micarta (although the leather might not be an ideal material for that type of thing.)
Dude that is exactly the thing I am looking for to keep in my competition quiver to write down all my sight settings for my competition compound bow. Wow.
Man. You have the best toys. If you ever need any help around the shop, hit me up. I'm in Upstate New York and would be thrilled to be an elf in your workshop. Thanks for all that you do!
These look great! Love your collection of oddly specific antique tools! The gold stamp is awesome. I didn't think I'd see a cast iron paper cutter after you used the brass triangle to cut the paper, but I see you got it in there. That's a nice desktop size. Mine is a little bigger about 250 lbs so not as portable.

I love watching your old “mechanical” tools!
Hey, classy little note books!
Reminds me of my grandfather who taught me that old saying: "A short pencil is better than a long memory."
Dear Jimmy, seeing you at work while making any object is a real pleasure. Number one
That sewing machine is a monster! Very cool project. Small scale stuff like this is what I like working on with the kiddos. Cool video!
Reminds me of my friend's Juki. Burly as hell!

Jimmy has all the coolest tools and equipment.
I can’t believe they make a machine to radius the corners of notebooks... amazing 🤩 I want one
friggin love this, it was you who first struck my interest in binding, a true inspiration Mr Diresta
The old tools have an elegance about them, these books look great
Goddamn! I love the gold foil stamps. That's next level.

That weaver sewing machine is crazy. Also I really like that stamper at the end. Notebooks are nice
I really love that you're getting into leatherwork more. Excellent stuff.
This guy owns the universe and can create anything.
Hey when I saw this small anvil i immediately remembered this video when you repaired it. And that's quite some time ago. Still love you videos😀
Those are wonderful :) I love the rounded corner cutting tool too.
Congrats for you work, I'm Brazilian and I'm watch all your video
Really enjoyed this one Jimmy you make it look so simple THANK YOU brother
That cutter is beautiful.
The mechanical clicky trimmer noises in fast forward are so satisfying
The lowly pocket note book elevated to industrial designer status before our very eye's !!!
Love that brass triangle!
I love the idea of a bunch of notebooks on a string like sausages in a deli
I’m at work right now and don’t have time to watch just opened to thank Jimmy for posting and breaking up the monotony of my week haha

They were made by Jimmy during his previous lifetimes.
Now I have some serious tool envy! :) That sewing machine...
I thought I was productive this week...and then I watched this. Outstanding Jimmy!
