That's my late Uncle Bert shouting for the ambulance. He'd been an extra for years and started occasionally getting lines around the allotment. He hangs around the Nags Head in loads of Only Fooks and Horses too.
yea pauline started off as merry and happy but the years of hardship had taken its toll and in her last 7 or 8 years or so she became increasingly cold and bitter.
Trivia fact: Arthur's collapse was referenced in a BT commercial back in 1997. I remember vividly that Bill Treacher(Arthur) and various former Eastender actors each receiving a phone call from Letitia Dean(Sharon Watts), and when it came to Treacher he is seen working on an allotment answering his mobile phone to Dean mildly joking "I tell you, this digging lark is gonna do me in!"
not really no;women would typically take on the family they marry into and become the matriarch of such. When she says us Mitchells she refers to herself and her kids and her ex husband.
Poor Arthur, he had always been dogged by bad luck and it followed him right to the end. At least though, Arthur died on the allotment that he had loved so much rather than in prison. Rest In Peace to Bill Treacher, the actor who played him.
He was a very lovable character and many people enjoyed him and Pauline The original Beale/Fowler family were central back in the mid 80s when the show first started, so for people who had tuned in day after day to see the lives of these eastenders it was quite sad
Arthur was only 52 at the time of his death. As his son Mark said bitterly to wife Ruth “That man (Willy Roper) killed my dad. He had years ahead of him. Willy Roper stole those years”. And when Ruth said he should not hate Willy Roper forever, Mark replied “You want to bet?”
Arthur Fowler: (groans) AHH! (body thuds, groaning) Man #1: Get an ambulance! Man #2: Right. Man #1: Quickly! Man #2: How's he doing? Man #1: He hasn't moved. Paramedic #1: Right, thank you. Get me the bag, please. Hey, what's his name? Man #1: Arthur. Arthur Fowler. Paramedic #2: Arthur. Arthur, can you hear me? Man #1: It's gonna be all right. Pauline Fowler: Arthur! Let me through! Arthur! What's happened to him? He's my husband!
Not true actually, there have been at least two occasions where someone said b*stard. Grant also said it in an episode where the Queen Vic was smashed up.
whey hey, someone else who is rubbish at wrapping presents like me good old pauline. And no pauline did not kill him by hitting him with the frying pan she only hit him when she discovered about his affair with Hewitt
Day we said goodbye to a legend. RIP Arthur

"Ben's gonna be different to you two, he's gonna be respectable"
No luck there.
"Ben's going to be different to you two." Well that's one way of putting it.
Rob Innes you got that right
Thomas Gallagher you are awesome
When Arthur collapsed, he made the same noise he did, when he trashed his living room.
That's exactly what I thought. No Christmas trees on the allotment though
The actor has died in real life today, aged 92. RIP.
Another great episode of EastEnders. Poor Arthur and poor Pauline (she had everything in life thrown at her). RIP Arthur and Pauline!!!

I'd love to see that commercial.
He played a BT telephone engineer in an episode of The Professionals.
Always found it odd that Peggy would bang on about “us Mitchell’s” when she was married into the family rather than an actual Mitchell
not really no;women would typically take on the family they marry into and become the matriarch of such. When she says us Mitchells she refers to herself and her kids and her ex husband.
RIP in the real now Bill. Lovable and fine actor.

No she didn't! Arthur was assaulted in prison just before his release. He went to prison for stealing money from a community fund.
Ben Mitchell was christened as a baby in '96. He looks about 19 or 20 now and has glasses.
I don't think that the two songs played are a mere coincidence: No More I Love You's and Misunderstood Man.
When you notice Ben Mitchell will grow up to become a sophisticated homosexual.
nobody has a washing machine either lol
Omg it's baby Ben
and Lucy and Peter
actually she first appeared in 1991 played by another actress but was reintroduced in 1994 played by Barbara windsor
I miss arrhur
i love Paulines voice
arthur had such a quick, painless death and he lived until he was old,how is that a tear jerker?
He was born in 1943 died in the 90s so was less than 60 when he died. So he wasn't exactly old.
Some people find the death of a character they have enjoyed watching for years sad without the need for violence and/or youth. Weird huh?
