Zane honestly has had the BEST character development in the series, next to Cleo. I still remember how shy and scared Cleo was in the first few episodes, and now look at her! And Zane, I always frowned when I saw him on screen, but now, i am wishing for more Zane in the show.

What i love about Rikki and Zane's relationship:
Rikki knows she's poor and accepts it.
She dates a rich guy who would buy her simple yet expensive things and she still doesn't accept it
It shows both are them are not in it for the money but the fact that they care about each other and that's it. I just love how the caring nature is there for both of them

Zane is actually a nice person, caring and thoughtful. It is mainly only his arrogance that is annoying, otherwise he is actually very nice. Such a pretty episode, includes all the characters that are significant for the series together, and we get to know Rikki better.

One thing I really love about Zane is he is PERSISTENT and DETERMINED. When he sees something he wants, he WILL get it, no matter what. Example: the whole mermaid theory in season 1. He didn't stop believing in mermaids when everyone told him he was inZANE (get it?).
This is exactly what Rikki needs in a boy. Someone who is determined to be by her side no matter what. Someone who is persistent for her attention. Someone who cares about her enough to fight for her. Even if she's a mermaid who gets into a bunch of trouble. I think that's what we ALL want in a partner.

This episode is so good. It gives Rikki a much deeper character and lets us in on her insecurities and her character development in such a beautiful way. One of the very best H2O episodes
