    Since I planted switchgrass on my small parcel 5 years ago - my small game and turkey sightings have dramatically increased. Enjoyed your video!

    Nice! You have encouraged me to making two on former videos. I have four pallets, currently, and plan to make my next one soon. My wife and I enjoy sitting out on the front deck, drinking a cup of morning coffee, all while enjoying all our wildlife. Thanks for all you help and knowledge, Jeff!

    I’m about 20 mins from your place Jeff and have seen 5 timber rattlers in the past 4 years. I have the same opinion as you about them. - Great video

    Family is such a huge part of land ownership! A bit envious here. It’s been a month since I’ve been on our land!

    Crazy how bad of a winter you had, Jeff. Here in WV, it was the second warmest on record with essentially no snow to speak of.

    Where do you place rabbit huts in relation to deer bedding?

    • @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Brian! They are all in edge habitat...lots of them near die bedding. However, I let the type of habitat best for rabbits and their security dictate where they went, with a priority on the supporting nearby cover of briars, shrubs, downed timber and the availability of hing cut trees.

    Just got 15 pallets to put in the woods and cuttings on order, love your content! Curious what you recommend doing with stands of paper birch and black locust?

    Jeff, any advice on how close you can place the pallet stacks to each other and still benefit from each one? For example, I have a sloped strip full of briars and scrub trees about 200' long, would it be excessive to make 3-4 piles on that strip?

    I'm trying to put a screen up along a power line on my property. I can't put any tree that gets too tall as the power company comes every few years and cuts back anything close to the lines. I was thinking miscanthus giganteus as its pretty cheap and makes a thick screen. Does miscanthus offer any type of habitat for rabbits and other small game?

      It can be escape cover but no food or browse. Great choice! Make sure 3 to 4 rows...2 to 3' spacing

    Do the huts help protect the rabbits from foxes?

    Question. On my 100 acre lease in GA mountains we have a lot of Coyote sightings. So, would increasing rabbitat influence more coyote activity?

    • @butt562
      @butt562 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the pertinent question. I sure as hell don't need anymore of a reason to attract coyotes.

    I miss my small game hunting
    . I spend so much time in a treestand hunting deer that killiing squirrels and rabbits has gone by the way side. Time to get back to my roots a few times a year.

    I’m guessing I already have great rabbit habitat because they are everywhere. They have already killed so many fruit trees that I bought and planted chewing the bark in the winter. At dusk to dawn, there might be 8-12 in my yard. I consider them a nuisance. Can I ship you a boatload of rabbits? lol

    Good luck with all your tree cuttings on your rabbit farm. The few rabbits I have will eat hundred of newly planted trees every year down to nothing
