I love how positive you are! Especially when you mentioned how you started the youtube progress. You're literally the live version of 'focus on yourself' except that unlike many others, you don't care to persistently repeat the phrase for validation or convince others because its so rooted inside you. You inspire me 💓
Definitely recommend reading the shadowhunter books in order of publication to avoid spoilers. So that would be the first 3 in the mortal instruments series, then the infernal devices trilogy (clockwork angel etc) and finally the last 3 mortal instruments books! That’s the foundation of the shadowhunter world and then there are other series that take place in the same universe :) More long vlogs pls, I loved this
OOf, even tho I had zero knowledge about the order, I started from The City of Bones. Feeling so blessed lmaoo. Thank you for being the bearer of good news 😂
@@hobbiesofamuslimgirl hahaha ofc!! I actually read the series completely out of order when I was younger, I started with book 4 lol then I went back and read the mortal instruments in order which is a good way of reading it but the last book spoils the ending to the infernal devices! So if I could’ve done it differently I would’ve done it the way I explained 😂
@@SaraCarrolli I read all the mortal instruments and then the clock works. I think that was is easiest because you just finish up the story and I know I would personally get confused when it comes to remembering characters if I split up the series. But if you plan on reading them the way Sara S suggests, then yes. It would be City of Bones, Ashes, Glass, and then the clockwork series and then the rest of the mortal instruments books. There are also two series that come after those books, which I highly recommend. Cassandra Clare is one of my favorite authors. I hope that all makes sense!
You’re so right, I think the fact your channel is so good is bc we see that you love what you do, it is peaceful and natural it’s like watching our bestie doing her things 🫶🏻(btw I hope you’ll like In a Jam!)
As a fellow gemini I appreciate the PSA to stop gemini slander! lol Also I'm really excited for you to start reading the shadowhunter world. The first two shadowhunter series have been my comfort series since middle school. I agree w everyone who says that the best reading order is definitely publication order. It's so much more immersive that way & it also makes it easier to understand & get into the world 🥰💕
Going to miss Sara Vlogs until the end of the year. Your wrapping looks so great in this video! I think it’s such a big factor of what type of paper you’re using. That thicker paper sometimes doesn’t comply with what you’re trying to do and then cheap paper is just…cheap. Lol. My mom does it so professional about it and I struggle every year. It usually takes a few tries to get in the groove! As always I love your content! Never stop💕
You are so nice and inspirational. Your videos are amazing❤️. I love your room and style,, I also love how you are yourself and don’t care what others think. It takes so much mental and physical self confidence.
I feel you when saying balancing school, reading, and youtube is hard. plus i'm in a musical that is about to start practicing everyday 😵💫 we're on the grind fr
I love House of Earth and Blood so much. I thought that it would get boring since it’s so long, but I literally read it in 2 days. Some parts were confusing, but it made sense in the end.
For the Shadowhunter books, I always recommend people read them in order of publication date. It will take you out of series, and you'll bounce back and forward a little, but I think for the most rewarding first time experience, that's the way to go. I read them the first time that way, mainly because I was reading them as they came out. But it's definitely the most effective way
I really appreciate your advice about starting a TH-cam channel! I have always said that I want to keep making videos that I enjoy! And it's so hard not to get caught up and trying to be trendy or comparinh other people. This year I really found my voice and I'm excited to keep building a community no matter how small. Glad to hear that this process works!
Yes shadowhunters!!!! My favorite series ever. I agree with other comments, publication order is the best to avoid spoilers. You’re in for a world of stories. Enjoy! 💙 ps pls do some vlogs of reading them!!
I love this long vlog. I have had House of Earth and Blood for a year now and haven't read it because it just seems so daunting the how long it is. Will probably pick it up in the new year.
i LOVE the shadowhunter books, seeing this is making me want too do a reread of all the shadowhunter series😂 crescent city has been sitting on my shelf for the longest because of that exact reason
i’ve been in such a reading slump from being busy and not being able to get new books, but watching this made me want to read. hopefully i get some time today, being a mom is crazy🤎
I have really been enjoying your videos! I used to read a ton growing up and fell off for like 7-8 years after high school, but have recently gotten back into it! Your videos are so chill and fun to watch, and I’ve gotten tons of books saved to read based upon your recs! Thank you! 😊
Yay this video made me feel so at peace and happy for vlogmas!! I read the clockwork angel series (infernal devices) first and liked it much better than the mortal instruments series but you can honestly read the two series in whichever order you like ❤💕

thank you for being transparent about TH-cam. focusing on the numbers is something I have struggled with for sure and need to let go lol. magnolia parks is one of my favorite reads of the year but I know there are mixed reviews about it. give it a try💖
That Barnes was beautiful 😭. So excited you’re starting CC, I’m gonna start it in the new year!! I read ToG and before reading it I didn’t think it was for me but it ended up being amazing. You don’t HAVE to read The Infernal Devices before The Mortal Instruments, technically the time period in TID it takes place before TMI but I read TMI before TID and there’s nothing that you’ll be missing if you read it first. But I know people also recommend reading in publication order. Both are great series though Loved the video
i read crescent city a couple of months ago and it was so good!!! one of the best books i’ve read this year and easily a 5 star read. the world building is confusing at first, but the plot and characters are so interesting that i honestly didn’t mind being confused, if that makes sense. i would definitely give a try !
Definitely read the clock work angel series, then mortal instruments series and then the dark artifacts series!! It will help you understand the shadowhunters world much better! This series is my all time favorite
Omg I love the crescent city series!! First book was a 4 star for me and the second was a 5 star! Can’t wait to hear your opinions on it. Also, you are technically supposed to read mortal instruments before infernal devices but I read the first 3 books of the mortal instruments series and wasn’t the biggest fan 😬 so I might just go ahead and read infernal devices because I’ve heard that that series is so much better!

I think this is the ”correct” way to read the shadowhunter books 1. The mortal instruments 1-3 2. The infernal devices 3. The mortal instruments 4-6 4. The bane chronicles 5. The shadowhunter’s codex 6. Tales from the shadowhunter academy 7. The dark artefices 8. Ghosts of the shadow market 9. The red scrolls of magic 10. The lost book of the white 11. The last hours
I enjoyed the throne of glass series before acotar and LOVED both, I started with Assassin's Blade first and then Throne of Glass, Once you get to the end of the 5th book a slump in the 6th book is expected when they focus on different characters but the 7th book brings everyone back together and is so good. So much about that series is the reason I love Sarah J Maas and I highly recommend it! Also with the shadowhunter books by Cassandra Clare you can really read them in whatever order, they just have easter eggs in each one to connect them. All the books in order is The Infernal Devices, The Last Hours, The Mortal Instruments and then The Dark Artifices every other book is just in between if you really like those characters or are invested in the world. I love them all but if you read the Mortal Instruments first I feel that it will introduce you better and explain things better if you have trouble understanding fantasy a bit, also then after those ones there is a netflix show about those specific books.
I’m currently in school trying to also keep up with reading and it can defs be tough 😅 I try to convince myself that I like reading my notes though lol
u can either read the mortal instrument series and then the infernal devices or read the 3rd in the mortal instrument and then the first in the infernal devices and then alternate. but i just read them each separately & it was fine!!
