Off topic: I know you guys cut up these video to make multiple videos for the week but I find it really impressive of how clean and how well you guys present on your live streams. Like when you do your tee ups and content, I never hear ums or likes and you both present very clearly. It’s really impressive to do it in one take.
It’s so tough as a new Etsy print on demand seller, but I’m still going at it and trying to keep up with what’s out there and what people want and love but you don’t really have any stars. I have one person that purchased and give me five star, but other than that, it’s tough.
I’m not finished the full video yet, but when you were talking about buyers visiting sellers’ Etsy shop to purchase more items, you didn’t include anything about the multiple purchase discount coupon that Etsy offers. You can set what percentage off you want to give, and how many items or order total it will take to activate the discount. As a long time seller, I’ve found this a great feature to add. But in regards to people visiting the shop itself… I used to offer a specific coupon code in my shop’s about page. I left it there for years. Not one person used it. Anecdotal evidence for sure, but does give perspective on how much effort you should put in to it.
I created a slide show video of 5 star reviews from Etsy buyers. I use this video when I need a filler in a listing that I have not taken a video of yet.
A lot of times I will have someone click on my ad, but buy another product in my store. If you are changing your sales coupons, how long should you wait? And should you ever deactivate your older coupons?
What do we need to do about all of our items thats already listed? We have over 1,000 items and they are a mix of vintage, a few handmade and a few crafted by combining bought items. So do we need to go through all of these and reclassify them? What a job and time suck that will be.
Chris is right. A> Use of a likeness of a person is trademark infringement..Will it be sued? probably not. B> The only ways that you would even have public domain usage of a photo was in the prison mug photo because all us gov photos are public domain but see point A. C> Don't try to make a buck off a temporary trend and risk a long term business over it.
One thing I noticed is that the listing configuration to declare if you made the design yourself or with the help of AI is OPTIONAL. So my question would be, does Etsy really require this info from supplier? Or is it just there to appease the handmade sellers?

If Etsy really wanted a seller to declare this, they should have simply made this field a required field, meaning you won't be able to finish and publish the listing without it. So that's where I'm being suspicious about Etsy's true objectives.

July is typically one of the slowest months of the year in all of ecom. Things start to pick up in August and then start to rock and roll in september.
Reviews, especially on Amazon - I rarely pay attention to good reviews (as a buyer), I always look for the negative reviews to see what's bad about the product. Sometimes people are idiots and leave negative reviews for stupid or irrelevant reasons that have nothing to do with the product itself.
People like to purchase a thing by seeing, to know it is fit for thier test or not. Title and tags will help customers to search the respective products but if visually they are not happy why they will buy the product? As simple as that, online we don't have option or trail so visual impact matters a lot 😊
great show/podcast as always...it's informative, yet relaxing. I'm going to watch the beginning again later tnight because I found the data very interesting. Towards the end, when discussing the "iconic image", it got me thinking...."who is the photographer that took that image?". So I did some "fact checking". A photographer named Evan Vucci who is a photo journalist for the Associated Press took that image. He is on a YT video discussing that day and seems like a real humble guy. I also checked and all Assoc. Press images are NOT for commercial use. You must obtain a license from AP. I guess when people steal from Disney it's a faceless entity they are stealing and profiting from so that is how they justify it....but seeing this guy talk, it really made me feel sorry for him of all the hard work he puts in and life threatening situations (he also did photo journalism in Afgan.) he encounters and people think it's okay to take his work and profit from it. It's disgusting.
I think it would be good to ask people what they think reasonable shipping is. Because Printify charges close to $10 for a mug and people have told me charging $5.89 is outrageous. Now i think that’s resonable but i also think $10 is outrageous. 😂
A couple of observations ... it's OK to sell male stuff - females buy them as presents (male items, not the males)! What is unreasonable shipping? Unfortunately, from Australia to anywhere is a long way, and is expensive. Sometimes there is only so much shipping I can hide in my item price.

It is an order. Title get the produce displayed. Pictures will get the click, and then the conversion.

It's not optional if you used ai, you are required to disclose it.
