- WORKAROUND for the LFO "ISSUE":
• BEHRINGER KOBOL LFO ro...
PROCESS:
I found it a bit quirky that the LFO of this brilliant
synthesizer is hardwired to VCO2. Searching,
asking and asking for a workaround. And all I
found was silly advice. And in the end here is
the video evidence that there no easy solution
to this problem.
With 2 cables however it might be fixed. As
shown in this video!
I loved when you said that politicians tell BS!!!
And I do love Thomann as well.
Put a dummy cable in 'VCO MOD IN'
Finally the solution. Thanks for clearing this!
Just plug a cable into vco in. The original had the same ...
That is the same solution that was offered three weeks ago. But then he answered it did not work at all. So what has changed in those two weeks?
@@newignis"VCO MOD IN" and "VCO 2 Freq In" are not the same inputs.
@@konskiftthat is correct. There was a first incorrect advice, but the right one was given as well further on in the same thread and still Lesindes stated it was wrong.
This was well presented. First, Behringer manuals really are terrible. Anyone with little experience on a 'normal' patchable synth can easily get lost in the signal flows. At the same time I do find these well done. VCO MOD IN does indicate a break if patching there and only VCO1 has an Off switch from that mod. This is similar to VCO1 out which does NOT break it from the filter compared to VCO2 out which does. As stated, anyone without significant experience with such synths deserves a MUCH better manual with a number of patching examples covering things like this. I will state the VCO2 out to the voltage processor then the VCO1 'volume' (VCA) in presents some interesting patching...
Thanks for the detailed comment! Later in my studies, I found out that plugging cable into GATE IN sets the unit to drone mode! Which is not obvious from the printed wiring on the front panel.
@@LESINDES that is interesting. If you check on the software configurator what is the polarity set to? If you change it do you get the same behavior? I am still deciding about this synth while I keep waiting for Proton to ship.
@@klstayfor 169 quid in the uk it’s a no brainer to pick one up. Just got one myself to ease my GAS withdrawal symptoms 🤣🤣
I love the kobol. Just plug a cable into vco mod in, make sure it's isolated. Voila.
Yes, we already discussed that 😏

@@LESINDES 😎👍
Can it be used for generative music? At least the Neutron and the Crave can. And also the CAT (without even patching any cable!!!)
Yes, you can patch the Lfo to the gate In for example!
@@LESINDES Does it feature a noise + S&H output (Krellian style)?
@@mutedsounds2k pink and white noise, yes, and maybe you can patch someth s/h thing with noise and the voltage processor (will check).
@@mutedsounds2k just checke several LFO-Noise-combos: since there is no logic module in the Kobol you can’t realize s/h unfortunately!
but where is the proton?
This.
Tripod? Camera move make me go euuuuhh
