I feel like half of this album is bleeding edge Phinehas sound and then the other half are almost alternate versions of old songs of theirs (I know rumor, or maybe more, has it that Thorns is based on Crowns... makes sense), and then they shuffled them up on the album. This song in particular has Fleshkiller (Phinehas song, not the other awesome band) all over it to me, right down to the solo. Personally I think it came out awesome and really makes me want to go blast the whole Phinehas discography, haha.
