Canon talk about buttons. Sony talks about 4k/120fps in FHD/S-log3... 12 fps in photo mode. AF performance. Soon nobody would be interested in Canon talks.
Am I missing something here, or you really are explaining to people what buttons do on 4000 euro body only camera??? I bet its mega important for those who had never heard about photography at all, but still have billion to spend on 5DiV. Those who are willing to waste their money on this product, I feel, already know where all the dials are.
Yes you are missing something. new shooters typically purchase the best camera they can afford. Sometimes it is a rebel, sometimes it's a 5D. It is incorrect to assume that if someone is just starting photography that they must be limited to entry level cameras.
Fair call..then also waiting for the button layout of Hasselblad H4D ;) However, I also assume that if someone is just starting photography, they would never buy Canon. Maybe when the first dinosaurs were still roaring around it was somehow magical, but not anymore. Its time is gone. Gone forever. Of course there is still some inertia left from Canon's past and and having 5D is still a sign of being professional. But people are not stupid, or at least with time they should understand that they are not.

Some people are actually into photography to create images and not geek out on technology. Whereas you may be more interested in the technology aspect of it others may be more interested in what they can do with their camera, rather than what the camera can do for them. It's all fair enough, everything has it's place. A more humble approach, and you may learn more, be better!
