In 1990 my mate told me of an experience he had a couple of years earlier. He and three friends of his Dad's went to spend a weekend at a Bothy that they had helped restore. This Bothy is about a 2 - 3 hour walk off the West Highland Way passed Tyndrum. They had arrived and were unpacking their gear for a comfy weekend stay. He was standing in the living room area on his own when he heard someone clumping with heavy boots down the stairs which he thought was one of his dad's friends. The staircase is walled so you can't see until they are at the bottom and entering the living room. The footsteps reached the bottom and that's when he noticed looking out the window his dad's friends were all down by the Loch edge setting up fishing gear. He bolted out the living room in a flash. Now he told me about this experience the night before we were heading up for a weekend, I was cacking myself but it was a good weekend and a beautiful spot very tranquil. He now lives in South Africa and still talks about the experience to this day. I've been in the Drovers Inn many times, it truly is steeped in History.

@@eerieedinburgh I have my own experiences at a couple of primary schools I was working at in 2022 in outskirts of Edinburgh, things I couldn't explain, one school was frantic banging on a window when the school was empty, another school child's bare footprints appearing on the wet toilet floor walking over to the sinks and ending there. Same school my jacket was taken off the hanger and spread out on the hallway a good ten foot from where it had been hanging, I was worried someone was playing silly buggers and checked for my car keys but they were still in the pocket, I checked the corridors and classrooms but the school was empty.

I arrive in Edinburgh next Tuesday. Unfortunately with chronic sciatica still, yet I won't be beaten. I may not be able to hike, but I can drive, and visit as many of these amazing places as possible. The Drovers Inn sounds like a must. Yes.
There is an old belief that many of these ancient lochs are interconnected deep, deep beneath the montains, hills and glens that separate them.
The "monsters" swim through and between most of them.
There is more than one "monster" that's for sure. x

Thank you for a wonderful exploration of the west Highland way. I walked the route with a friend back in the late 80's and the experience was every bit as wonderful as your stunning photography. We had no ghostly encounters [fortunately] but we were startled by the boldness of a mouse in the bothy featured at the start of the film. It showed none of the timidity expected of a mouse, and was clearly well-used to human company, and accepted a small portion of our spartan fare before returning to a tiny hole in the fireplace! Thank you for sharing.

I really enjoyed these stories! My heart broke for those who lost their lives to starvation and accidents! The Scottish lands are so beautiful, yet so unforgiving if you're caught in its powerful nature and weather.
I visited scotland twice in my lifetime and I passed Glencoe on my way back to Invereness when touring the area on my motorbike. It was a beautiful sunny day and the landscape was truly breath taking.
I was going to head further in to Glencoe, riding around the Loch Leven and back towards the A82 when I got this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was so bad that I had to pull over and catch my breath. Some locals come over to see if I was ok and I explained my sudden stomach ache. The waited with me until it passed but it was not shifting. I took some ibprofens and water. After an hour, my stomach ache was still there and worse. I was also feeling anxious and cold. I asked the locals how to get back to the A82 without going around the loch and they were so lovely, they showed me the way as the gentlemen's wife needed to head to Fort William anyway.
I followed them to Fort William and stopped with them there for a break. My stomach had gone and the lady said I had colour back in my cheeks. I felt warmer and no longer feeling like something bad was goibg to happen. It was so strange, I cannot to this day explain the strange feeling.
I was so thankful to the couple! I bought them a box of chocolates and a bottke of wine at a petrol station as a thank you. They did not have to do that for me but they were so kind.
Still to this day I cannot think why I had that horrible stomach ache in my lower gut and the feeling of anxiety creep in. Never had those feelings before, ever! I often wonder if my body was sensing that something bad would happen to me if I continued around that loch and reacted to whatever was going on to keep me safe?
Thanks for sharing this! I've subscribed as I love your storytelling. ❤

This video is just absolutely brilliant! The best ever, thank you so much. Have you thought of writing a book? Your story and your writing are so very good! The tone is perfect. I love Scotland, I lived there for two years way back, 48 years ago now. It’s so full of magic, I was often to think of it like Never Never land in Peter Pan, the views over the mountains and lochs is ethereal! Thank you ever so much for this wonderful film. I’ve just subscribed and am off the explore your other tales. 🙏🏻💫☺️

My Military Police unit did a month training tour stationed at Cultybraggan just outside of Comrie back in the early 90's. We operated a security check point for a TOC site, scrambled communications basically. Believe it was a training camp at that time, I remember exchanging one of my uniforms for a students uniform back then. Very comfy uniforms too, soft like a pair of pajama's! Still have it hanging in a closet here. I also remember going a few rounds with a poltergeist in a Quonset hut near the main gate one morning. Darn thing kept knocking over my mini-keg, wouldn't let me sleep. When I went outside to look about and see if it was just another soldier playing a prank on me, nobody was around and then I heard a god awful crying sound like a baby coming from a rolling hillside just across from the main gate. I think the civilians posted at the main gate were Paul and Sarah? Both very kind and friendly people. I asked Paul if there were any keyboards around that I could play, he said come back after lunch. He ended up taking me to what I thought was the Comrie town hall, he had a key. It had an old out of tune piano off to the left side that made it sound like an old western Honkey Tonk piano and a small stage straight ahead. I played for about 3 hours and when I finished I was shocked by a grand round of applause from about 12 people young and older who snuck in as quiet as ninja's and listened patiently. I'm so happy they enjoyed it though, that's why I've loved playing since I was 12 years old. Also went to a nice pub in Comrie and played a few rounds of darts and got nice and ripe :-D Everyone was so down to earth, so friendly and kind, even the leather punks hanging around the head shop were super cool. I didn't want to leave, or fly back home lol. I also had the opportunity to meet Paul and Sarah's supervisor, who seemed like quite a military lifer type. Paul just said she was having a bad day and she was usually quite nice. She was also one of the military personnel that had sighted a UFO back then too. I wish I could've retired in a small home near Comrie, that would've been a dream come true.

Thankyou for this journey up the west highland way i really enjoyed it visiting all the places on the road, I was once taken to the Drovers for Sunday lunch the food was delicious and the place atmospheric, although i never saw anything i did feel as if i was being watched when I went on a call of nature. Seeing all those other places and the treasures enroute was a real treat for me , ie the old castles etc as i unfortunately dont get the chance anymore to visit not being a driver. So I thankyou for making this video and you're storytelling too

I thought Hess bailed out of his plane. The plane then crashed. Hess flew to England because the Nazis had a backroom deal with members of the British elite that did NOT entail going to full scale war. Hitler hated the idea of going to war with England and spoke of his disdain for that a number of times including to Adolph Galand, a hot-shot Luftwaffe pilot and commanding officer. But England stabbed him in the back forcing him to prosecute total war on England. What kind of a deal they had is not clear, but I suspect Hitler did not want to fight with England at least until he defeated the USSR decisively to prevent a 2-front war.
