As someone who started on Outlands less than a month ago I can't overstate how helpful joining a guild was. They've helped me get all the codexes and unlock my aspect on top of piggy backing on their experience; not just farming along high aspect guildies, but also their experience with the game itself. And this was on day 2, when I was still figuring out my UI and how dafuq Razor worked. Couple of weeks later and I'm now aspect level 11 (granted it's a cheap one) and actually contributing, instead of just mooching. And while I think the scripts by Jase are excellent, I would suggest to at least learn how to play your character manually (I did this in the sanctuaried newb dungeons) with hotkeys, so that you can play your character when you have to turn the script off (to flee from a PK for example) and if you're able learn a bit about the code of the script so you can make adjustments to your preference (I didn't like the target overhead spam, so I gutted that out of the script). That said, do get the gate escape script; it has saved me more than once and in my few weeks I've only been PK'd once on my main and that was a four man gank.
Guilds are definitely the way to go. You will get a lot of help getting started as well as a wealth of information. Outlands can be very daunting at first. As far as scripts, as I stated in the video, you can use them or play on your own. I am just hoping new players and possibly some that have quit might find these useful to get them going here so they don't end up quitting before they really get started.
Harvesting logs and iron is great for money and/or making a crafter. For you PvM characters, you don't always have to go for the top tier aspects...there are a lot of dexxer aspects that are cheap and can take you to end game without breaking the bank.
For pvm make a stealther archer Archery 100 Tatics 100 Hidding 100 Stealth 100 Tracking 100 Camping 100 Healing 100 You hide and attack is boring but is very easy to farm and hide from reds.
Definitely a good template, was just going for something super cheap and easy to earn enough gold to get gathering tools until they can start selling some of their commodity deeds. TBH I think your template was the 2nd one I tried and I enjoyed it quite a bit. My first was a disco/peace macer lol
