Could you remove the front motor and put a bigger motor in the standhousing connected by a chain that propels the back wheel with different sprocket sizes while still remaining electric. I don't work on these so just a question on my part.
What would be easier is to just make it a rear motor scooter and remove the front motor and just replace it with a regular rim and tire. Cuts the electronics in half.
