When I was younger I can relate to this, I'd always be scared of the dark and think that someone is actually at the door so I'd run al the way to my room.
I can relate to this because when I was younger I lived in a trailer with my parents and I lived In the very end of the trailer and my parents lived at the other side of it so in the middle of the night I would run all the way full speed to there room and just be screaming and crying and I never really stopped being scared of the dark
I'm not scared of the dark and I've never been, now I don't like how it dulls the senses but I'm afraid of what's IN the dark, the dark is just absences of light, it's what lurks on the dark that's what you should fear, not even saying anything on the Paranormal because that's just anecdotal conjecture and nobody can at the moment verify proof of it but Bears and Predatory Cats are mostly nocturnal!😓

Idk if this helps, but if you can without hitting anything, try dancing in the dark! It’s something like a reverse stage where you’re putting out a performance but no one’s watching ~ I love it! Although you’d need some practice run with the lights on dancing with your eyes closed in your room
I’m terribly afraid of the dark. I’m always afraid that some sort of invisible fire or something will get past Glare somehow, so I’m always careful not to get out of bed without the lights on
I used to be scared of the dark really bad, now I enjoy a good horror movie with a friend as scared as me, and then I fall asleep knowing it is okay to be scared and that everything is okay. Sometimes I sleep with a light on, but not much anymore, I still am growing, but at least I can see myself grow.
yes. what I found that helped, when I had to turn off the light for bedtime, was listening to some sort of white noise. If I meditated on the sound it helped me stop thinking about my overactive imagination. Soon, I didn't even have to focus on the noise, just having it grounded me and made me feel better.

Just make sure lights are on in the next room you're going to and leave the door open before you go back to turn off the lights, that way you still have plenty of light coming in from the next room over
