I like how the basic Tapestry game was also set-up at the beginning of the video, and remained set-up until the part were the expansion box went back to the shelf. Maybe afterwards, Rodney tried solo mode himself.
Also, one of the things I liked with Tapestry is that all of the miniatures are pre-painted. It made all of the buildings stand-out in this video like you'll looking at a small city being built. I wish more games came out with the miniatures already pre-painted, in case you're one of those people who doesn't have the time, money, and/or patience to paint them yourself, or have a hard time seeing very small spots on small figures so that you can tell if you missed a spot or not while painting them.
I think this is what we all wanted for an expansion and experience. Really looking forward to it!

Well, Jamey and his team have done it again with another out of the park expansion for one of our favorite games. I love the additional track, although it is going to make choosing tracks even harder. The best part of this game is the wide variety of strategies you can try to get the best scores, and they have done a lot to give you even more ways to think things through. I cannot wait to get my copy!!! Thanks for the glimpse of the game in yet another outstanding production. (We are in the new house finally; just moved in the week before US Thanksgiving. So I am stealing a minute to watch some Watch it Played. Shhhh. We played Atlantis Rising yesterday which had been in storage waiting for us. It gave us a run for our money; our toes were gettin wet. Our new house will have a game room dedicated just to games. We are going to have a table, just a standard table we decided, in there for gaming, and all our games in cubes on the walls. I can’t wait).

Oh gosh how did I not know there was another expansion for tapestry coming out!!!!! Guess I'll have to pick it up hehe. Hopefully at some point they release a big box for the game and expansions

Great video! Looks like a great addition to the game.
I like seeing different ways of using some of the buildings and tech, so if you get those cards and aren't building towards that strategy, you can use them in a different way.
My wife (Teej) usually does a lot better than me at any kind of resource management game where players can maximize the number of turns they take. In both this game and Arnak, she will have so many more turns toward the end. But then she lets me take extra turns, so I'm not just waiting on her. :) The good life.

Yes, they have some additional features which are described on the mats themselves.

This looks pretty interesting. Thank you for the excellent explanation Rodney! Did you get a chance to play the game with this expansion? I am curious how much you felt this added to the experience if so? I have Tapestry and the Plans and Ploys expansion but it doesn't get to the table that much due to the setup time and I think everyone we've played with (including myself) feel like it's missing a little something. I have hung onto it in hopes that an expansion might come along that adds that little bit of umph I think the game needs. I wonder if you relate to any of the above, and if so, did this expansion push the game up a little higher on the "get to the table" list for you? If this happens to be available at BGG CON perhaps a closer look can occur there, but in leiu that...
Hey, hope you get a chance to check it out! I tend to avoid offering my personal thoughts on the games I feature. An expansion I enjoy for a game might not work for someone else. I prefer to show the game, and let the viewer apply their tastes to what they're seeing. Thanks for checking out the video!
I am slowly integrating my family (mom and dad) into the world of board gaming, Rodney. How would you rate the complexity of the base game + expansions for novices to play?
This is always very hard to assess for someone else. What's complicated for one person might be a breeze for someone else. I think your best bet is to watch the tutorial for Tapestry and then be brutally honest with yourself about the capacity of your mom and dad to grasp all the various concepts working at once. If you've never played a game of similar complexity with them, then it's going to be more of a risk, than if you've played something as or more complicated with them already.
It was my third ever board game and I'd rate it as mildly challenging to learn. It has a lot of rules and symbols.

Catan is the first board game I've learned from you and from that moment I felt love with it.
