They don’t sing along to the whole song, they interact with the artist by singing some lines at specific moments. These fanchants are usually officially released by the company, so everyone knows what to sing and when. In western concerts the best song to listen to a fanchant is always Fake Love. Everyone does the call and response of Fake Love extremely well and I absolutely love it.

Western music doesn’t have fanchants. And I’ve been to BTS concerts and we don’t do fanchants like karmy does. In Fake Love we do it well, but it’s rare to hear the full fanchant for every song in the west. Ppl tend to just sing along to the whole thing.

Idols started in Japan, and Korea, therefore the fanchant culture started there. It’s not an army thing because we’re neither the first ones to do them nor the only ones. You’re the one that needs to learn more of the culture before you go asking others to do so. And as I said, I’ve been to their concerts.
Yep that's an actual crowd!! The fanchants and responses are well-organized that's why they sound so perfect!! They're so strong that they can be heard in space as well😁
there are some really great concert performances of this song. in general i’d recommend concert vids over music shows. the live vocals are clearer and the energy is different, you get really great live band instrumentals too. though that means the production can be quite different to the original recording.

They have a distinct sound from other groups that make them stand out. On top of that, they are known to have the best vocalists and dancers. I hope you will check these out!! They also have songwirtting camps where a bunch of songwirtters and producers come together and create some of the most legendary songs in kpop history. Who know? Maybe you can go one day and produce music with SM!!!
