Love your effort in that cold weather. I have had some luck with rubber worms for crappie in the cold weather. Almost rigged like a drop shot. Small green or pink power worm
i use a 1' - 1 1/2" plastic body with with a 1/64 oz with a #2 jighead i make called the Maggot. similar to a lure we used ice fishing when i lived in Iowa. go small. and work from there. blue/silver and chart/ blue work great in cold water.
