Thanks for the video Rebecca. Of course, Brisbane won't have anything as tall as the buildings you mentioned because of the height limit put in place due to proximity of the airport. But I believe an opportunity was missed with the new Kangaroo Point bridge. The pinnacle would have been suited for a look-out spot. Having it over water would have made it yet more appealing. But don't despair: Brisbane has Mount Coot-Tha. Few other cities have that.
@@YazzyYou I wonder why we have that rule when New York has airports in a closer proximity and yet have several high rise buildings…granted that hasn’t worked out for them in the past….but maybe a no fly zone and change of flight path would be a solution. It was all in the name of fun though, I can’t see us getting anything of the kind. lol. Yes the bridge could have had a unique lookout hey. The thing about each of those buildings is that one look and you know which city they're from. It made me realise we don't really have any really distinctive buildings. But yes, it would be good to have a skydeck on one of the high ones as well.

I used to assyme the Skyneedle was a lookout tower back in the day, and thought it was Brisbane's very own distinct tower. It's now blocked and surrounded by numerous apartment buildings on South Bank and is barely visible anymore.
Brisbane really needs its aviation height limit to be re looked at, I know it’s to keep the planes safe but like, 274? It’s such a weird specific number that’s also incredibly underwhelming if you drive literally 40 minutes south. Idk 350 seems to be the next increment for gold coast and Melbourne. I think Brisbane should join them in coming years but it’s wishful thinking 🥲

Yes it used to be much more visable and from memory had a beam of light that could be seen across the city.
