    I just watched this video on my phone while sitting in a car with a dead battery, in a shopping centef parking lot, with 2 sets of jumper cables. Both the video AND the comments were extremely helpful. Thank you!

    Thank you so much for this video, Truck didn’t start this morning and I had to Uber which was $60 there and back. Glad I can do this now! An apartment complex is a bad place to have a dead battery.

    QUICK QUESTION:
    Instead of a secondary working car, I have a 12V Portable Jump Starter. However, the jumper cables that connect to this Portable Jump Starter are too short.
    Do you think that it'll work if I connect regular jumper cables to my dead cat battery and then the opposite end of the cables, connect them to the short jumper cables that are connected to the 12V Portable Jump Starter?

    Just a small bit of advice you should always connect positive first . Red first then black second, then reverse when disconnecting

    Would this also work by connecting a jump cable onto the clamps of a booster pack cable as those are really short on a Lidl only one i just bought.

    One of your jumper cables clips have no plastic over the crocodile clips, what if both jump cables had plastic around the clips. Would it burn or melt where the clip attaches to the plastic on the top.

    safer method would be connect the two jump cables before you connect them to a battery.

    Using this because the cable tongs or whatever is too big for my Prius . But the cables work.

    always connect with positive to positive first, start with good car then bad car...wait 4-5 mins while charging....then remove negative then positive... never connect bad battery negative connector directly to battery, connect it to a piece of metal on engine or frame

    Again it should be positive to positive and negative to engine block NOT pos. to pos. and Neg. to Neg.

    I like video but I would always make all dead connections first then to live car with ground for safety that way if ground or short goes to car with ground and rubber tires not human.....

    Disconnects negative cable from postive terminal. "See i just made a mistake. That could have been a real problem."

    • @lexistential
      @lexistential 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      this is late but yes, as long as you connect everything properly. should connect the black cable on the dead car to the engine block instead of the battery terminal, but otherwise everything here is how it should be done. just keep the cables separated, never let black and red touch
