Thanks for uploading this, man. Zoo York was the best. The best! The East Coast Movement (yes I capitalized that!) was something special and I'm so glad I got to witness it. When I think of Zoo York, I think of then, the early to mid nineties. I got to meet most of the Zoo heads back in '96. They were all super rad dudes that made skateboarding fun. RIP Harold, Pierce.
Humble beginnings, great times East Coast skateboarding really began standing up for itself with Zoo, amazingly different times, glad I lived thru them, and we`ll always have Mixtape, Peep This, Heads etc before things went coperate and lost the esscence of what this upload caputures 411VM magic thanks for the upload.
Omg This was one of my first skate videos! I was in 7th grade and I was obsessed with this video and the sub zero video, and goldfish! Haha thank you for posting this! Good memories 🙏🏼😌
I couldnt agree more on music in 411, that was the bonus to the skate footage was getting exposed to so much excellent music I would have never have heard otherwise. I would tape segments onto cassette if i couldnt find the albums. I remember the first time I watched this segment and heard Souls of Mischief, my friend and i went out and got the album the next day. 20 years later, i still play the same CD all the time.
Il never forget when I was skating love park they came up to me to give me there first boards it was a blank with zoo york bumper sticker on it. I thought it was ghetto but took it cuz it was free. Never thought they would blow up the way they did. Eventually they invited us to new york. They were very cool guys.
Had the original Zoo York tag dec (black/white) back at around 94. Loved the track and actually got the CD of Booker T. & the MGs which is stiil rather dope sound - track is called Melting Pot. Get be back to the those days when Twin Towers were still part of the skyline 😿
I still have this on VHS somewhere but it would have taken a while searching through them all to find it. Been trying to figure out who did the music, I had a feeling it was Booker T. & The MG's. This was one of the 411 clips that made a big impression because of the music and style of footage that just seemed to be made for each other. Probably one of the things that turned me onto Zoo York originally. One of my favourite brands which I still wear today, glad to see they are still going strong. RIP Hunter and Pierce.
@JAP JAC. That's nuts, I went and got almost all those same CDs , including that Rooftop.. album for that sweet track they used in an opening Chaos montage, and the Sick of it all from the Newburg contest. Nostalgia for days.
Wus up Kalis!? Roy? Troy? Kenyata?Scott? Me? Morrisville represent! You remember the sk8ing the "blood banks" @ the loading docks next to the bowling alley!!!
why is this put down as 1993 when actually it came out in the 411vm issue no 6 which was released as the june/july issue in 1994. clear facts aside zoo york was dope till ecko bought it then fxcked it up.
videos were made alot faster back then.now you just endless internet clips thrown at you everyday and not many classic full length vids come out at all anymore.i was 16 in 1994 and have every 411 from the 90,s on vhs. every year you would get 6 new 411vms come out every 2 months like clockwork.i find it really sad now that virtually not many real skaters even buy vids no more and support the small companies in the skate industry but will buy £70 wack nike shoes straight off.
The world will never be as epic as NYC in the 90s. Grinding, blazing, 40s, dope beats and chilling with your crew!

This is a skateboarding, no doubt.
Mad respect from Japan.
The song is called "Melting Pot" - Booker T and the M.G.'s, 1983 album "Melting Pot". So good.
