    Dude I gave you a shout out on my new video. Comes out Friday at 3pm.. Thanks for all your help.. I used the DC treadmill motors to make bottle tumblers.. appreciate it.. 😊

    Thanks for all the great videos. I have a question about DC motor chokes. I'm planing to use a microwave transformer with the fine wire coil removed. What would you think about cutting the ferite magnet part down too fit the coils. Then welding the parts down to make a smaller unit? Thanks again for all your advise.

      Yes you can and that is the best way to do it. I would go even one step further and epoxy the coil into the the modified housing.

      @@dazecars That's the plan so far. After cutting it down the run a fly cutter across the cut. Thanks

      Use some sacrificial aluminum on ether side of the core to take up the space between the top of the vice and the top of the core. These cores are made of thin laminate layers and cutting them can cause the layers to bend but if you sandwich them between two pieces of aluminum during cutting and milling the outside layers will not bend and deform.

    Hello, are the black blue and red wires the same on every board to run a potentiometer? If so your video was very informative and thank you very much

    • @dazecars
      @dazecars  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Every board of this model type yes or every model of board no. I have the hack for about a half dozen boards but it is for sure board model type specific.

      @@dazecars Thank you for your quick response. Im just wondering how many different boards and motors are out there, because everyone i come across is different. Is there a way to test you can perform to find out which wires do what and which wires you need to run the potentiometer?

    • @dazecars
      @dazecars  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wish it was that simple but most are not hackable and not all of them that are hackable use a potentiometer as Some use a PWM. Good news is most motors will run on any hackable board or any board still utilizing the treadmill control panel.

    What is in the treadmill that allows the slow start ?
    Thanks again

      soft start is simply a function built into the board. it's not a specific part but rather the sum of several parts working together.

    Thanks for the great video Daze! I have an old treadmill with the MC2100 motor control board. I haven't looked closely at it but I will now. Do you have any information on that one? Or can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

      I just searched your FB channel and see that you have a video about the MC2100. I'll watch that now. Thanks.

    Dang another question , " Slow starts " I've read for the RV air conditioners " the factories will not warrantee when customers add slow starts " , my / question is are the slow starts reducing voltage / hard on motors ?
    Thanks a 3rd time +++ ;)

    • @dazecars
      @dazecars  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have no idea why RV air conditioner makers have problems with slow start motors. I know nothing about them.

      soft starts shouldn't add any wear so it's probably to stop people from tinkering with the ac

    Impressive. Would really love to do a torque comparison with my 6 € AC DC PWM controller from the usual suspects. My low rpm has a hum and about 200 rpm. Not as strong as my rectiefied 24V DC supply that I use only sometimes, because the PWM fits most purposes for both lathe and mill

      This should help, it’s not exactly torque ratings but it does shed some light on the differences. Variable Speed Treadmill Motor Power Supply Shootout: SCR, Variac, & MC-2100 Which one is the BEST?
