Mojang just updated the sculk sensor :O
th-cam.com/video/vEu5A9VFWtk/w-d-xo.html
i came here because of that
This calibrated Sculk sensor is much better though. The new one looks ugly AF. Granted, you could hide it in a contraption, but I'd rather display it as it as the wine tint is very cool.
Shoutout plz plz

It’s so cool how the redstone community will actively make mods to fix the game
yea
When mojang doesn't make the game how they want it they decided, fine I'll do it myself
Beeeef
@Tomáš Trebatický it is because they don’t care about the community at all and that makes me sad too
@@-sam2570 sammmm
Glad you all liked it
Ofc we do
how does this have a heart, a pin, but only _6 likes?_
@@bluepineappleguy its 183 now
We did like it

Mojang could have added this in easily. They know how much redstone engineers were looking forward to this block and how disappointing it turned out to be. Two versions of the block is absolutely possible and would have unlocked insane possibilities
They have more important staff (chat reporting) to do
@@M_1024 ye, you can ban anyone with command blocks
@@Chanted2 I'm sorry that you'll never be getting a PC
i guess even Gnembon is Speechless now arnent he?
It is in the vanilla game you just need a redstone decoder
It kinda is in vannila now (the newest snapshot) .. you need to put in the redstone signal of the corasponding signal strength of a normal sculk sencor. its called the calibrated sculk sencor (sure you find out how to use it and where to use it)
Awesome video,as a beginner to redstone, this mod definetly worths a try
My mom said I could get a pc at 1000 subs :)
Love the video. I’m not a redstoner, but that’s cool you guys came up with your own solution. I actually found you with the whole Steveee thing and decided to stay
My mom said I could get a pc at 1000 subs 😇
Guess what the calibrated sculk sensor was added to minecraft which allows you make it only react to sounds that give off a certain redstone output meaning you can make it react to only to sounds that give a redstone output of 10 if you want
GG Galster! Great mod! Also great work on the suggestions and the video purple!
In the newest snapshot (23w12a) Mojang added THE better Sculk sensor! You craft the "Calibrated Sculk Sensor" with three Amethyst shards and the normal sculk sensor. You don't put an item in the Calibrated Sculk Sensor but you need put a specific redstone signal for activating it.
For example:
If you want the Sculk sensor only detects foot steps. Then just put the signal strength of 1 in the sensor.
And there is a new use of amethyst blocks. With an Amethyst block you can control more where the vibrations need to go. So the amethyst block is used as an transmitter to other sculk sensors. So like an iron trap door but without the problem doing an iron trapdoor redstone clock. And you can transport lower redstone signals then 10.
Apropos redstone signals. The frequencies are also simplified. So you can remember better the different frequencies.
Oh my goodness! I didn’t think of that. Recolor the sculk sensor to be pink and BOOM! Sculk sensor fixed; you are truly a genius.
Just wanted to mention that when the sand is moving, it turns into an entity, so it actually isn't less laggy than a minecart. That said, the whole flying machine is less laggy with the better sculk sensor due to it being smaller and thus causing less lag in general.
But just when it's moving, no?
@@mordret103 The sand only turns into an entity when it's falling.

If you're sad about low subscriber ratios, you have it backwards. THIS IS A VERY GOOD THING.
It means that the youtube algorithm is promoting your videos to lots and lots of new people. If you had a 90% subscriber ratio instead, that would mean that you're stuck with your core audience and your channel is slowly dying, because no new viewers come in.
I don't know who started this fad of trying to garner pity subscriptions due to this statistic, but it's awful misinformation. Cruelly harming the confidence of successful youtubers graced by the algorithm.
The better Sculk Sensor? I think you mean the BULK Sensor!
Such a well made video purp! props to you for making it entertaining even for non-redstoners!
i love how the sensors(not the sculks the one that detects changes in blocks) has an actual face with that texture pack for them.
I’m not sure if this was in the mod or not, but it would be cool if there were calibrations where it only turns on when a specific mob makes a noise, which would be useful in mob farms
Its happened!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This seems much more straight forward than the whole comparator output filtering ngl, if they added the sculk sensor this way it is gonna be easier for non-technical players to use it effectively as well
Yeah
What about customizable range and multiple triggers?
I think it'd be pretty neat if you could use skulk sensors with an observer in a crafting table to do this with a new redstone item. That way it'd have these functions while not looking like a tentacle monster invaded your redstone machine, lol
mojan plz make flying machines even better with this!
Crafty might be pulling ahead again, but at least you upload more than every 2 months😂
The sound effects after 4:07 is dramatic, and fits the seriousness of the entities.

HORRRRN
BOOOoom
AND IT GOES UP!
Must have watched it already more than ten times.
It’s really cool how you fixed it without Mojang fixing them. His effort and patience is actually insane
using the lightning rod calibration, you could make it so that lights flicker whenever lightning strikes, for extra spooky effect
this is litterally better in every way
Galster In This Universe: "Glad you all liked it"
Galster In An Alternative Universe: "Glad you all hate it"
Great job!
*Can you fix the Warden and the Deep Dark? They need to be more challenging and scary.*
I mean, the Warden wasn't meant to be farmed. And yet.
it doesn't matter what is done, the community will always figure out a way to farm them. heck, mojang put a ton of restrictions in place to stop fishing farms, and yet we still figure out how to make them. also, he drops nothing, the only point to farming him is to fill the mob gap to stop other mobs from spawning. also, while i haven't gone trough an ancient city yet, id say the warden is still kinda difficult, mainly bc you can really fight him, you have to avoid him, since if he hits you, you die even whit full nethertie. the beam is an exception, but it still kills you way faster than you kill it. also, this is minecraft, its not meant to be the most challenging game on the planet. there are lots of kids playing the game, if you were to make the warden too difficult, you would be blocking access from a huger portion of players. as the deep dark and warden are rn, they are good imo. if you have ides on how to improve it, just tell me, ill read em.
@@mr.battlecats5512 If anything, the implementation we did get just makes the warden into a boring mob. And the rewards lousy, it feels more like a partially finished area rather than a proper thing. Giving a mob really high health and instakill damage is wack. You might as well not wear armor as the savage hit will shave a lot of durability off your armor even though you die. Rather than make it interesting, it feels cheap to die to a warden. Same way vexes are really annoying to fight due to their damage + mobility. Or how phantoms have a relatively worthless drop for mob you need to constantly worry about interrupting you, that's also a bit of a pain to deal with.
Rather than focus on one mob, I wish they would've made at least a couple other threats in the skulk biome. Like graspers or spikes.
cover it with redstone :)
Mojang: Naah, let's just hire this guy
we need this so badddd, JOIN THE DISCORD LADS
The moveable automatic TNT minecart launcher is the epidemy of evil. It even sounds evil.
Nice it's like that meme Daniel the cooler Daniel but with skulk sensors
Here's hoping Mojang will see the demand for the scrapped calibration sculk and add it for 1.20
There's a new update that added the calibrated skunk sensor which is literally exactly what you made
No it's worse then the mod
@@aubreypotter96while it’s not entirely the same, it fixed the main complaint about it, being that still listed to pulses that you didn’t want it to causing a huge delay.
You deserve more subs imo, great vid!
Making a song with it would, be hard but cool to see the "Sound" travel along.
They can always add a new block to the redstone that requires a sculk sensor for its construction, into which you will be able to insert the appropriate sound filters.
A more vanilla-feeling implementation would be to have it calibrated by putting a note block under it on a specific pitch and recategorize the vibrations so that it aligns to the 24 notes instead of the 15 signal strengths. Plus, this would make it slightly easier to discern specific vibrations.
We tried a note block system originally, but using items to calibrate it is far easier
Sounds like something that minecraft might do if they were to implement something like this. Good idea.
it took one day
💀
It doesn't matter I only use it to scare me in ancient cities and summon wardens
Nice vid purple! Keep on the good work!
1:09 heres a time for all the items required for section triggers
Amazing Video! its cool to see how the redstone community knows what will make the game better lol
I prefer the blue skulk. While the pink one looks nice, the blue one gives a more sinister vibe.In the deep dark it makes the whole place a lot better.
This is the difference between the skulk sensor being useful sound based redstone technology and a gimmicky novelty

This pingu dude is some kind of warmachine
I have to admit that I do like how the sculk sensor is the first natural redstone part, in the sense that you do not have to craft anything. It does expand the boundaries for what can redstone can be.
However, it really does need some sort of calibration at the very least. I kinda liked SimplySarc's idea of treating it as a living thing that can be fed in order to train it to respond to certain signals only, though I'm not sure how convenient that can be made.
4:15 bro killed my ears
*sculk sensor that detects other sculk sensors intensifies*
I always appreciate when someone used the battle soundrack
So, a video where a colour changed item in the thumbnail is IN THE VIDEO!!?!?! 😮😮😮
“We fixed it by making it worse!”
4:00 falling sand blocks are entities too, minecarts require slightly more calculation, because they're minecarts, not just because they're entities :P
But it's only an entity while the sand is airborne, the rest of the time it's just a block, so it's not really causing passive lag like minecarts do
@@Purplers I'd have to do benchmarks, but I feel like the game respawning a falling block entity over and over cancels out any gain you would get from it being in block form for some time. But launching a sand block in the air is cooler, as you can color it with concrete.
Ultimately, in the video it seemed like you were implying sand is _never_ an entity, and I'm just saying it is an entity in falling form.

This was a really really cool idea. To bad Mojang is really busy moderating chat for bad words.
2:22 this part was played at a slower speed because pistons dont push and pull that slowly, the actual speed would be same to the improved one
It's not about the push speed. It's about the inconsistent delay.
What's nice about this is that it's still fairly intuitive
Now I wanna know if all the redstone heads came together and used this mod what they could create
4:04 ERROR, LAG FOUND! CLOSING GAME...
This can be made into a warden defence system like having a crouch through the entrance instead of a door and a person who runs gets destroyed by warden pulse
suggestion: if you want to make the radius bigger, use a sound sensor, it will be crafted with a repeater, a redstone dust, and a sound device, to craft that its a piece of stone (not cobble) and a lighting rod.
Well the sculk wasn't meant to be the center point of redstone. Its meant to be a hive mind, which activates an enemy if triggered correctly.
Sculk sensors were advertised as a redstone component first, and a deep dark threat second. For blocks like these it's ideal that they're even remotely usable in redstone, especially since the sensor at it's current state is really underwhelming for the amount of dev time it went through.
It would be great to see you be able to craft this in game and call it a calibrated skulk sensor. Maybe make you have to kill the warden for a crafting ingredient (if Mojave actually wanted you to kill the warden.
Mojave
@@finadoggie yep Mojave. Exactly what I wanted to say.
@@Saxophonin It's called Mojang, not Mojave.
@@micehouse-squeak wow really.
Congrats on 69k subscribers👏👏👏🥳🥳
IT MADE THE SKULK SENSOR BETTER FOR REDSTONE BUT ALSO REMOVED ITS INTENDED PURPOSE IN THE DEEP DARK
POV: Your that one player that likes Skulk for decoration.
I think it would be a good idea if you asked your patreons what redstone contraption they want and you make it for them
pink skulk sensor lets go
I would like to mod the skulk sensors myself, but just don't have the time to do the prerequisite learning of Minecrafts codebase right now.
Maybe at some point.
I think sound frequency fits much better to mc and prevents it being OP
man the flying machines are so cool, its just sad we will never see this in the real game
The TNT minecart launcher is terrifying and also oddly satisfying to hear the sound when it goes off, imagine how terrifying it would be for it to be used in PvP battles, it would demolish everyone and everything within range.
@@xanthiusdrake2775 i mean u can use the the normal TNT flying in PVP, I really liked the wireless "car" flying machine, you could make a lot of cool builds out of wireless redstone. The original reason why i was hyped for skulk sensors
such a cool mod
sure both are good but. there should be normal skulk sensors in the deep dark / ancient city basicly adding a new block
Now the sculk sensor needs a range and speed upgrade and I am happy xD
4:12 = Warden Sonic Boom in a nutshell
When i clicked the vid, i was like "Who is this purplers guy? Is this related to that purpledragonnuke video?"
4:11 sounds like a war of worlds tripod
I think we need to work on getting this actually useful skulk sensor implemented into the base game. Can anyone send this to a MC developer or something?
Not useful enough to be considered
This is so real and cool. Sculk sensors are so useful and less trash now, will implement 👍
How do you know, how tf did you watch the whole video in 22 seconds?
@@happi3r80 2 tick pulse, calibration, and the flying machine guy 😎
you’ve had five minutes to watch the entire video 😑
maybe have a skulk sensor be able to detect when another is activated, for example if you need multiple but need them to activate right after each other,
This could actaully improve minecraft prisons!
"My voice cracked"
had to rewatch it and analyze for 12 hours to figure out how, still cant find the voice crack

Pingu is an absolute legend.
This needs to be vanilla, it wont interfere with non techy players but red stone users will massively benefit
YESSSSS its Fabric
Thank you Galvester
i just wanna say, its really funny because hes like "hey look at this mechanic that wasn't fully meant to be used with redstone, just for the deep dark. Look how bad it is at redstone stuff"
The sculk sensor was literally introduced by explaining some of it's uses in redstone. It is for both the deep dark and redstone.
To be fair, you could make that snowball-activated tnt duper using a target block
Yeah, thar would probably be simpler.
@@jujhar. no
Maybe this will create more powerful memory storage.
i hope the devs watch this and implement it

It Sounds like plane wing falling off
I want a machine that addes the input strength like when i input 5 and 10 it gives 15 if they are higher they will input 15 but you can press on it to change how it looks but instead of giving 15 it creates a color redstone that has a higher signal strength and show if you put a color wool behind it will read it and show the color it got and they effect the lamp as well (blue and green) to make in led mixing colours will give out the other color (any colour thats not blue and green will have signal strength of 15) this machine is hard to make but will revolutionise RedStone ENTIRELY is we have a machine that adds instead of big huge machines
This’s good but sculk sensor can activate sculk shrieker only if the sounds are makes by player and not spawning warden because the shrieker have been build py aplayer
this man's videos are both funny and interesting this is worth a sub
underrated channel
Cool mod, wish this was in game, i would use it in redstone everywhere :DD Good vid
You are awesome!
I was going to comment "maybe it could be crafted with redstone" and then he created it with redstone
at this point, most mods are just fixing the game
