- I'm finally testing the first instrument I've ever built and running it through some pedals. I've used a couple of found metal parts (springs, bolts, a spinner) screwed on a wooden wine box and mic'd with a piezo. The wine was called Little John, hence the name.

That was the first to use synths and the musicians union wasn't happy

Reminds me of the creative geniuses of Concrete Music and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop pre synthesisers who in the 60's era would create these sonic wonders. You are a genius of their kind more than 70 years later. 👏👏👌

That's awesome. I was wondering how to get a booooiiiinng sound in my song.. Now I just need to set up a little stage with little microphones for the frogs to get a real authentic Ribbit sound.

I blew up a couple of delay units back in the day setting them on an infinite repeating pattern. looks like a fun toy though.

This is brilliant! The improvement could think of is to be able to feed the sound onto the platform, doze with potentiometers each spring and then pick up the resulting affected audio from an out jack on the platform.

What device is allowing the low frequencies to come through and to impedance match? Normally with a piezo contact mic, they sound tinny with diminished low frequencies. Are you using some kind of pre-amp?

You really dialed in some amazing effects here, Pedro. Can I ask, is the signal coming out of the box (from the contact mic) going direct to the Mooer Pure Boost or is it first routing through a mixer/interface then through the pedals? Thanks
Thanks! The signal is going directly to the Mooer and then to the other FX pedals.

Is there a pre amp inside the box or are you able to get enough of a signal to feed the pedals simply from the piezo alone?
No, but one of the pedals, the first of the chain, is a preamp pedal to increase volume. Subtle sounds really need this boost…
@@pedromesquita5992 oh I see , yes I thought a preamp would be necessary. I’m about to start making one in a wooden box, I’m considering putting a little preamp circuit in the box before the jack out.
I used a noise gate and no preamp, but it is fed thru several pedals into a mixer.

Time is never wasted when your building/creating something. I had fun building it and i love playing it.
The only waste of time is this comment. This is a such a cool creation and it's inspiring me to build one myself.
Gotta do _something_ between being born, which nobody consents to, and dying, which renders it all futile anyway.
