Dr. Abeer Al-Safran, Director of the TEACCH Center for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, has praised Kuwait’s keenness and interest in caring for children with disabilities and integrating them into society and also providing opportunities for People with Disabilities to fully and actively participate in the society. Her views echoed as April is observed as the Autism Awareness Month. She thanked everyone behind the success of the first TEACCH Art Exhibition - Integration - held in cooperation with Volvo. His Excellency Dawood Sulaiman Marafi, the Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs of Kuwait, has called for paying more attention to young People with Disabilities, regardless of the type and severity of their disability. The exhibition was attended by officials from the National Fund for the Care and Development of Small and Medium Enterprises. Visual artist Ibtisam Al-Asfour presented a painting dedicated to World Autism Day.

امتدحت الدكتورة عبير الصفران، مديرة مركز "تييتش" (TEACCH) لتأهيل الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة الذهنية، حرص دولة الكويت واهتمامها برعاية الأطفال ذوي الإعاقة ودمجهم في المجتمع، علاوة على توفيرها الفرص للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة للمشاركة الكاملة والفعالة في المجتمع. وأعربت الصفران التي جاءت آرائها في شهر أبريل الذي يمثل شهر التوعية بمرض التوحد، عن شكرها لكل من وقف وراء نجاح معرض " تييتش" الفني الأول الذي حمل عنوان "دمج" وأقيم بالتعاون مع شركة فولفو.
من جانبه، دعا معالي داود سليمان معرفي، وزير الدولة لشؤون مجلس الأمة الكويتي، إلى الاهتمام بشكل أكبر بالشباب من ذوي الإعاقة، وذلك بغض النظر عن نوع وشدة إعاقتهم.
وقد حضر المعرض مسؤولون من الصندوق الوطني لرعاية وتنمية المشروعات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، في حين قدمت الفنانة التشكيلية ابتسام العصفور لوحة فنية مهداة لليوم العالمي للتوحد.
