I will keep working at this/ share what i have learned until they put me in the grave. I love doing this! Its not for the money or the fame, just the satisfaction of a job well done and another piece of history saved for the future. I am already eyeing up other houses that need work in the area. I just want to go door to door fixing and filming facades.

The limestone repair work is a labor of love. It looks great. So much sweat equity but what a sense of accomplishment when it is done and the front of the house is restored to what it was originally. A new useful skill learned.
I love how you made a template for the repair of the corbels. They look great.
Kaleb, please remember that it is NOT easy to repair a corner on drywall so a limestone repair outside is very hard to do....and a straight corner too. Impressive to say the least.

I love that you're restoring the limestone to its original, precise contours. I'm sure there will be people who want "patina", but I like that you're restoring the integrity of the facade as it was originally conceived.
Is it possible to inject lime mortar behind the areas that are just becoming detached? Or to reattach some of the larger pieces using lime mortar as an adhesive? I don't know anything about this.

I continue to be amazed at the work you do. For a guy with no experience in this, you have managed to do some absolutely amazing patchwork. Once all of the paint is removed, all the patching is complete and the exterior is repainted, it is going to look absolutely seamless.👍👍(P.S. some of the small "oopsies" give the appearance of wear and you might consider just leaving them)

I agree with this suggestion!! Remember Bob Ross and his happy little accidents. I think the mistakes make it look more authentic to the parts of the stone that are still whole but have been worn by time. But you can always wait until the end and see the repair job as it comes together before deciding if you want to correct them. Marvelous work, Caleb!! I'm in awe of your skill and dedication! ♡

    Kaleb!!!!!
Don’t be so hard on yourself, you’ve done a great job.
Is it perfect? No, but it’s 95% of the way there, but that’s the whole point, it’s an old building with all its imperfections, it doesn’t want a 100% crisp finish that would stand out as being new…..
Let the old lady glow and look damn good for her age, there would be nothing worse then looking like some kind of Disney attraction….
Keep up the great work and give yourself a pat on the back…

Good morning the facade of the house is looking awesome my father was a bricklayer mason and plaster who learned his skills in Europe where he was from if you could get a corner trowel if you don't have one already would help set the corners you doing a great job I was his helper on many jobs keeping things lightly moist when it was hot so his work would cure slowly he would be so impressed that a young man is interested in learning all the old-time skills

Glad you found a product to repair the limestone. I could have used it back in the day. Each patch is looking better as you go.

I had to laugh at Kim reminding you how late it was and you need to stop now. Another mark of a true artist!
