I appreciate your message, Liz. Well done! In raising children and in business alike, it does take a village to inspire, support and nurture! No man is an island. Love your closing statement - Let's Be A Village!❤

The only thing I'll say to parents is: make sure your village is willing. Not everyone wants to be part of your village and you can't get upset with them when they opt out. Not everyone is interested in childcare.

I think that’s the hardest part. The people , family you thought would help don’t.
I don’t fault them but it’s just another example of why it’s so isolating.

I personally... myself... am dumbfounded that I just discovered this today in 2020 and that you only have 106 likes since 2016! I have protested this and published you to Facebook!! I believe in your theory and I love you for stating this !! thank you so much!!!

I love this and the message is so central to everything I'm thinking about regarding parenting and community, however I did wonder if you had any more content in which you went into more detail as to what it actually looks like to build this and how to build this modern village? Thanks for sharing such an important truth.

In other words, "imposing childcare" is often what is expected of these parents whose contributions to the "village" are nonexistent.

It takes a village but nobody owes you a village.

Would be an awfully terrifying situation to think a village child is handicapped and continually drag them back down to their limitations just to realize decades later your village was wrong.

Probably very common in times past, but with the worldwide communication of today everyone has the opportunity to exchange experience with each other instantly! Over 63% of the world's population has access to the internet, and it's not a stretch to imagine a functioning worldwide village model emerging from sharing all of our ideas and experiences (:

It can take a village to influence a child, but it's not the village's business to raise that child.

It didn't take a whole village to make a child hopefully, so this whole village thing is lame. You had the kid and you must take responsibility to develop and grow a strong confident human being.

It takes a mom AND a dad a biological one and a Christian one too, to raise a child.
