The Tesla Model S Plaid Track Mode is a specialized driving mode designed for high-performance driving on a race track. It is an advanced driving mode that is only available on the Plaid version of the Model S.
When Track Mode is engaged, it adjusts the vehicle's power delivery, suspension, and braking systems to provide maximum performance and handling. This includes optimizing the torque distribution to each wheel, adjusting the suspension damping, and improving the cooling system to prevent overheating during high-speed driving.
In addition to these performance enhancements, the Model S Plaid Track Mode also provides real-time telemetry data, including speed, g-forces, and lap times, which can be displayed on the car's central touchscreen or exported to a mobile device for analysis.

All these comments about the Tesla running out of charge doing this for a prolonged period… seriously? I have an M2 Competition for a track car and I can do 2-3 15 minute stints before my tank is empty. EVs last about the same. Then I have to spend about £60 to top it up again. Compare this to the £5-10 it costs to charge an EV. Stop being so biased and appreciate it for what it is - damn fast.

Yes 90 percent of the electric cars are slow at the top end. Except for the plaids and lucid. The point is normal everyday electric cars are so slow at the top end. And the petrol alternatives at that price point have way more top speed. Obviously if someone doesn't afford expensive supercars or electric cars they will try to have some fun in their budget friendly family cars so they do that in electric cars. Yeah but this one is one hell of an electric car.🎉

Funfact , at 300km the battery will overheat as it consumes too much power. Cant maintain this speed for too long
^ Engine will overheat as combustion engine makes too much heat (ie combustion) in an attempt to make enough power. Can't achieve this speed for too long.

At 300km the battery would not heat up much, as the currents would still be much lower than at a 250kW Tesla Supercharger, and it can continuously charge with the car standing still. The motor and driver electronics do get worm but the cooling system can handle that. Also, at 300 km/h, the motors use much less electricity than when accelerating. My tesla is limited to 202 km/h and at that speed the range is still ok.

Im EE here , saying that 300kmh uses less electricity is just false. I work often with motors, the higher the torque, the higher current a motor needs.
There is a starting current for a motor when the car starts up, the current will surge and goes steady state after that.
