My service maltese, Buddy, saved my life. He senses my PTSD flashbacks before I can. He lays in my lap for hours and brings me his toys when I don’t feel great. Funnily enough, performs deep pressure therapy too! I’d be so lost without him.
Do they get any larger and are they easy to potty train 😊

Me too! Only I got a Yorkie and he knows when one of my panic attacks is coming before me. I was choking on food one night and Elvis (his name) came running and licked my face so much I gasped and coughed it out!
He goes everywhere with me! We are lucky! 😊
@@sharonnichols9625 they’re toy breeds so don’t get very big at all! i’ve read that the maltese is particularly difficult to toilet train but mine was a breeze! :)

I just lost my 13.5 old Maltese girl. I am so heartbroken. Not sure can I survive without getting another one, but the pain of losing her was unbearable.

awe I really feel your pain. Losing a dog is horrible. I lost both my dogs, german shepherds, last year....they were poisoned by the neighbours weed killer. Its so hard to be without their love. So I went out and got a morkie puppy. Rocky is 25% Maltese. And I love him to bits. I have had him since he was 11 weeks old and he is now 10 months. Go get another one asap. Hugs
I had to put down my 14yr old Maltese last year. He was a rescue because he was unsellable, as he was deaf. My baby! Im still grieving. But I will never buy a dog. About 15 dogs a day get put down, in my city, just by "animal control."
So sorry for your loss of your loving dog. I cherish the memory of my sweet love.

Literally the best dog/friend EVER.
I adopted a 1 yr old from off the street in California. She was stone cold deaf. After an exam, the vet believed she was born deaf. She was cuteness, sweetness personified! She lived to be between 17/18 yrs old.
I lost my Bella a year ago next month. I miss her every day. I was fortunate enough to have had her for 15 1/2 years. ❤ She was so smart and loving and loyal. I highly recommend 😊❤

wow thats a good long age. I am sorry for your loss 💐I just lost my cocker spaniel to cancer only 7yo so heartbreaking. I want another but the loss of a pet is so devastating on our health.

You got me with the title! I have had two Maltese and loved them both. The last one was just a month short of 14 yrs old. She was the very best!!! I miss her everyday but also have wonderful memories everyday. Thanks for the video. Was so fun to remember all over again!!
I had a Maltese named Maximus and he lived for 15 years. He was the sweetest dog ever. I miss him every day.
I have 3 Malteses, one male and two female. The only thing that gets under my skin sometimes is their excessive barking from being so aware of their surroundings.
I just rescued a Maltese Mix on Oct 7th 2023 from a senior rescue! I had recently lost a Maltipoo I also had adopted….this breed has to be the sweetest ever…very easily trained! Since October my Rivy has learned so many commands! Smart dogs! ❤️🐶
What shelter...I want a small pup and where I live there is only big dogs.

Yes, I forgot to mention in my post I have had many breeds because I seem to rescue dogs but they are the most intelligent dogs I have ever had and they always want to please those they belong to.
@@shebascott144 I rescue too! Started back in 1974 and now I am 77 it continues! Now I am older I adopt older dogs to give them a life no matter how long! I adore the Maltese breed as they are so sweet, and perfect for me being older! Hugs to you! I love the way my little one cocks her head when I talk to her! You can see her in my profile pic! 🤗
I’ve had 2 Maltese the first was gifted to me by a former landlord, she died in my arms broke my heart. The one I have now is a Maltese mix. He is about 13 years old and such a sweetheart. He doesn’t like to be held. I’ve decided he will be my last dog. We are living our golden years together.

I love all dogs big and small I've got two german shepherd's and my big problem is they die too soon and the heart break is unbearable but I still can't live without them. This has me crying
My beautiful Maltese died today this morning before I got home from work 😢. She was so full of life and energetic and saw her veterinarian regularly and more often. I am lost without her.
@@kimberlymorrow5318awe you must be devastated now. I know that feeling. When you are ready ( I waited 3 months) force yourself out there and get another one. It worked for me. I have Rocky now. He’s a Morkie and I got him at 11 weeks. He’s now 10 months old. I love him so much.
Rosemary, did you ever read "the Rainbow bridge"? Yes, it will make you cry, but it is worth it...
Had to put my boy down almost a year date (liver failure at 15 yrs , he woke a couple of times in severe pain). Made sure I was there with him in the end, looking in his eyes. Ask the vet to administer the tranquilliser slowly so he fell asleep very slowly first. He was snoring and resting on my hand before I gave the green light to the vet to administer the rest. He was my buddy and never wanted for anything, and always made me feel loved. Great memories and I see his face every time I start up the mobile and tablet

All true our Maltese snowy is 10 years old next month and still behaves like a puppy. He is adorable 😍🥰
I rescued a 5-month-old Maltese. She was in horrible shape when I got her. She weighed 3 lbs. We had her for 9 years when she went into heart failure. With 3 meds we had her on we got another 3 years of love from her. When I picked her up at the airport, I thought I had made a big mistake. Come to find out, she was the biggest blessing in our lived. RIP Miss Shiloh, you now run with the big dogs. You will forever be missed.
I have loved this breed for a very long time, and have owned six Maltese dogs. I showed one of them to her championship AKC title. All of that said they are the most intelligent and challenging dogs because they are so smart! But I love this breed, and every time I see one my heart melts. Everything in your video is characteristic of this breed, and they are truly adorable, fun, personable, and LOVES people! He hasn’t met anyone he doesn’t like yet.

I have a Maltese...Lily. My pug died and I cried for weeks, then I got Lily at 8 weeks. She's bossy but a darling lol Even likes the vet. And one big advantage...they do not shed. Yesss you can wear black lol

Omg, my Maltese is the best. She has been such a blessing, pure joy and love. When my daughter passed away Eby was never left my side. Now she has diabetic and has gone blind. I love her deeply and feel so blessed to have her in my life. Great video!

Lost mine at 9 years old, had auto immune disease found out it is very common in this breed, she tore my heart out when I had to put her down was a great little girl and after almost ten years later as with all the dogs I have had I miss and loved them all, I now have a rescue mix and had a place in my heart for her she is my best bud. ❤❤❤

I used to have a Maltese dog for 16 years Sammy was so lovely my heart is broken he died of old age he was cuddling me sit on me were evervi went he would follow me so lovely in my heart and mind I belive he is in doggy day care in heaven he was a goody dog .💗🙏😊
This is my 4th Maltese and I am more in love with them then ever before, they are lovers, they will adore you and you will adore them and when they look at your with those beautiful eyes and that cute nose and the way they make you feel like the most important person in the world is absolutely amazing, they will sit with you when you are sad and they will wag their tails and be happy with you. I have had other breeds in my life too and there are some good ones but the temperament and love of a Maltese is undeniably the greatest joy of my life and I believe they will be for anyone who has one.

I had 4 Maltese, and they were the best dogs I ever had, I still have one little boy Maltese, 8 yrs old; and he is just the Greatest!! very smart, trained, never ever! had an accident, he lets me know when he wants to go out....he is so adorable! we play, take walks...he loves people!! they don't shed, great for traveling, we take him to most restaurants...and he is allowed!!! They need a lot of companionship and Loving.....

Years ago, I got to babysit my friend’s Maltese when she went on a cruise. It was only a week, but I fell so in love with her. She would sleep on my him every night. It was really hard to give her back.

I have a rescued maltipoo named Gary. He’s 3 and such a floppy little love bug. He does smack me away every morning, but it’s a great way to wake up!!

My daughter wanted a dog but my wife doesn’t like pets. So when she dog-sat a pure blood Maltese for a breeder one weekend, I just couldn’t make her give Daisy back. We voted and overruled my wife. We bought Daisy and my daughter was thrilled with her first dog. I had had many farm dogs in my time, so I knew a bit about dogs. My wife has epilepsy and averages 5 seizures a month. One evening I watched Daisy staring at my wife. She wouldn’t leave her side. Which annoyed my wife to no end! About an hour later Barbara had a seizure! So I started watching Daisy for the staring action. Sure enough, every time she stared at my wife, Barbara would have a seizure about an hour later! So practically and legally Daisy was a service dog! She met all of the federal criteria for one! I encouraged her behavior and Daisy was NEVER wrong. When Daisy stared at Barbara, Barbara was going to have a seizure within a few hours. Daisy could go anywhere with us now. We bought her a service dog vest and the crazy thing was that when the vest went on her, Daisy was pure business. She would sit quietly and not bark or beg. People usually didn’t even know she was there. But when I took Daisy outside and removed her vest, the typical Maltese dog personality came out. She ran and jumped and barked. I didn’t teach her that, nobody did! Eventually the years went by and Daisy’s health was failing. My wife and daughter said it was time to put her out of her pain. I couldn’t do it. So they took my beloved Daisy to the vet and he agreed and Daisy slept forever. I prayed to God that when I get to heaven, I won’t be happy if Daisy isn’t there. God can do that for me. I was privileged to know Daisy. She was a better dog than I am a man……..

We had one several years ago and she got to 4#, She passed away 6 years ago, Now we have 6 year old male. He’s a spitfire!!!! They are adorable and very loyal .

We have had two Maltese and our last boy Baxter past away on Christmas morning last year at 10 from animi very sad Christmas to say the least. We will however in the near future definitely have another, great dog and we miss him soooo much

I have a Malshi. She’s adorable! But I struggle with two things; her diet and keeping her eyes clean. She’s such a fussy eater and sometimes goes days without eating 😢

Great dogs specially if you’re in small spaces or a condo. Though they do suffer from separation anxiety. So you need to teach them early that you will be coming back so they don’t bark and bother your neighbors.

I had a Maltese, he was a gift. Unfortunately he passed he was 16 yrs old, when he passed he took a piece of me with him. I am in a process of adopting another Maltese it's a girl this time. She was left at the shelter within three days of her purchase, they got tired of her. She only 1 yrs old .❤❤❤
These dogs are heartbreaker's. I learned that being out of house sick for 6 months, I broke her heart too. So glad her last 7 months we were together. My vet would tell me we were each other's auto ego.

My first is a girl multipoo puppy with me for 13 years old and then she got sick finding out was cancer 😢 the most painful and sadness in my life. Now i finally happy again with my new puppy ❤❤❤ Maltese girl.

Our first maltese, Daisy, was a 4 yr. old rescue, and when you took her for a walk, she would go 2 houses away and sit down. Then you had to carry her the rest of the way! She was a proper lady and always did the proper thing. Even when she died at 10 yrs old, she was at the vet's getting her teeth cleaned. She had seen how sad I was when her companion dog Buddy(15 yrs old) (a Maltipoo) passed. I almost believed she died at the vets to save me the trip! We have the rescued Grady our Mauzer(crossed maltese with schnauzer) he was a very calm dog we got him at 4 years old he is 12 years old now, he needed a friend so... then we got Timmy from a lady up the road. Timmy will be 2 yrs. old January 20th, a pure bred. He would rather chew, wrestle, bite and get in your face. Cuddling not so much but yes, he will eat anything including fallen leaves from the trees. Daisy would eat lettuce but Timmy figures if he can't bring it in from the outside it's not worth eating! Daisy was so calm Timmy doesn't know the word! Maltese are so different in personalities, they might share some common traits, like cuteness but each personality is very different.
I had Shih Tzus….. and only walking 2 houses down the sidewalk & then sitting down & not wanting to continue.…. well, that’s 100% Shih Tzu! My Shih Tzus did that,& I’ve seen other Shih Tzus do that also. Shih Tzus are very sweet & very playful. They also are companion doggies… want to be with the owner all the time!
My Mom had a little Maltese dog named Angel. She was so sweet! I still miss her and she's been gone for 30 years.
A life long love affair!
I had a Maltese and a Bichon both me and my husband worked we didn't want our Mikey / Maltese to be lonely these two dogs were a delight to live with they had schedules eating, sleeping, playing, and potty time. They were very happy ❤loving❤ dogs❤ they both enjoyed going to the groomer once a month then the walk before I put them in the car which by the way they both looked out the passenger side window together and other drivers would talk to us when we were at the light. Then we got home again took a short walk went into the house had their treats then of
off on a blissful nap.
These dogs are social they like being included in your lives they are also delicate so no roughhousing. I hope my comment here helps
