    Your philosophy for all metal infantry and resin vehicles I can appreciate. The metal and resin models are particularly satisfying. My next army will likely be French campaign (June 40') France, which I'll likely apply a similar approach to your fine force here. Eventually I hope to cover an Imperial Japanese force as well. Simply not enough Bolt Action related content on TH-cam, I think. Subscribed!

      Thank for the kind words! In the years since I made this video I have done a lot more work with plastic infantry kits, mostly because I’m doing a lot more conversion work, but I still feel the same about my metal miniatures!

    Really nice looking army. I am currently finishing painting my 3rd 10man IJA inf. unit. We are running sort of "alternate history campaign" with my friend who plays the Soviets, so Im going to focus on paratroopers and some SNLF units to initiate a combined assault on the Kamchatka penninsula :)

    The way I look at it is that the Japanese tanks are good for what they were designed for. You have to consider that for a majority of the war they were going up against the Chinese Pooh to my knowledge didn't really have great tanks or even good ways of dealing with them. And also the Japanese tanks were lighter than the other tanks making them more maneuverable on island and semi amphibious locations

      Infantry are definitely a strong part of the Japanese army, much more so than their tanks! Can’t wait to see yours put together, they are great fun to play!

    Good job! Welcome to the IJA. Japanese can be really fun. Their strength is numbers and assaulting. I really like the truck mounted AA gun. Can you tell me where you found the STL file for the truck.

    Nice minatures. Which paints did you use for the veteran infantry? I am trying to start a Japanese army, and looking for paint guides for the Japanese vetran miniatures, but haven't had any luck.

      For the uniforms I used mostly Vallejo Green Brown, and every so often I’d do a miniature with Vallejo khaki to add a little variation. There is a Vallejo Japanese Uniform but I found it to be a little too yellow for my taste

    Japanese tanks weren’t meant to destroy other tanks they were meant to destroy infantry which did well against the Australians and Chinese

    Hello Boss, great job on your army, cam i ask what colour you used on the infantry that are wearing shirts rather than tunics?

    • @scalehistoryslc819
      @scalehistoryslc819  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I used Vallejo Green Grey. I didn’t want to do pure white for the shirts.

    • @scalehistoryslc819
      @scalehistoryslc819  ปีที่แล้ว

      A quick google search is showing them only in 15mm, did they make them in 28mm too?

    • @philgray8811
      @philgray8811 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scalehistoryslc819 yes, they did. Their AFVs were rather chunky but their infantry sculpts were very nice indeed. They were so nice that I got a Rapid Fire regiment of them, with a few spare bags for (eventual) reinforcements...for someone :-)
