Thank you so much for providing these to us! I so appreciate his sharing of the message without trying to sugarcoat things and just try to make people feel good to increase attendance. Once you get to a certain point in your faith walk, you need deep teachings like these and the encouragement to delve deeply into the Bible for ourselves. 🙏🏽

I agree! There are too many warnings all through the Bible, especially Hebrews, meant to help us stay on the narrow path that leads to life. We can't ignore them!

Maimonides was the first to claim God is One, and not 3 persons. He was born into Muslim Spain and when he wrote his paper denying God 3 persons, he was run out by other rabbis. In Egypt, he was more comfortable with a smaller Jewish community and surrounded by Muslims.

I find this argument, that cetrain epistles were adressed exclusively to Jews not really valid. Thus I might argue, the epistles to the Korinthians was adressed only to them, the one to the Galatians was only to the Galatians etc... so what? All of the Bible is God-given for all peoples of the world and has a relevance for all of us. Or does the epistle to the Galatians have only a meaning and importance for the Galatians? Since I am no Galatian, it does not apply to me?
Well, then the whole Bible has no significance for me. As I am a Romanian, and none of the epistles is adressed to the Romanians

      Hey Michael,
I understand your comment, but the Bible is for everyone. because God's message is for all of humanity. We can apply what we read and learn from it. The point is that in these books he mentions they are especially appealing to the Jews of their time, because they were afraid that believing in Jesus was contrary to their teaching. The author of Hebrews is arguing in favor of belief in Jesus, just as James and Peter are in their letters.

Good point Michael! I don't believe that's the point Derek was making here, but I to hear others say parts or much of the Bible don't apply to us and I think that is wrong.
