Hi John… great stuff ! Yes some good stuff on the Burnin Bridges album. Yes after Have A-Nice Day , This House is Not For Sale and Forever are the best of that stretch of albums. I also like I’m in Love With My First Guitar. Love that Kiss line in there. Still waiting for my Greatest Hits vinyl to arrive. I hope he does an archive series. I remember many of their shows being broadcast on radio back in the day. It would be cool to get official releases of those . Did you hear about this 3cd Best of from Japan where fans there voted the songs on it. It looks pretty good and the track listing goes with be lots of deep cuts. A little pricey because it’s from Japan . I pre ordered a copy off of Amazon. Even though I have all the songs I love buying compilations. Thank you John. Chez
@@Thunderstruckzzz hey Chez. Thanks for watching. An archive series would be awesome from them. And I have the new best of ordered as well. I ordered from CDJapan not knowing I could get it on Amazon. Shucks.
I'm a huge Jovi fan from way back. I have to tell you I am SO with you on the "Bon Jovi formula" as I call it. Those tired rah-rah songs need a rest. I also have every album (cd) and I ALSO don't bother with a lot of the 2000's stuff. I do like Crush and Bounce fairly well. Have A Nice Day is not a favorite of mine. So help me, I actually really like Lost Highway. I guess because it felt inspired from the success of Who Says You Can't Go Home. The Circle and What About Now - no. Just no. You have me second guessing Burning Bridges. You've convinced me to give it another listen! I'll keep your perspective in mind the next time I play it. This House Is Not For Sale is another quickly forgotten album for me. And come to think of it, the album 2020 - I don't own a copy. I did hear it and did not like it much at all. It's just too topical for me and it felt dated as soon as it came out. I have to say that Forever is a 4.5 for me. It still has some of that "formula" I mentioned, but the first few times I listened to this album gave me such a lump in my throat! The fact that I listened to it more than twice was a good sign. I hear a man who is saying goodbye to his fans (possibly), maybe goodbye to one of the biggest chapter of his career and musical life (again, possibly). I don't think it's coincidental that nearly every song had a nostalgic nod in it. I feel this album was his swan song... in case his voice does not come back. What better way to go out than to persevere with one more album and at the same time STILL be the ever positive mentor! I'm almost surprised he didn't cover Sinatra's version of My Way. P.S. - Forever is a 4.5 because that wedding song to his daughter is nice, but... let's just say my mp3 album goes from track 5 to track 7. Thanks for sharing you collection and thoughts about these albums!
@@pdshaw I’m glad I’m not alone on the Bon Jovi formula. And happy you are digging Forever. I hope it isn’t their swan song but not a bad one to go out on if that is the case. Thanks for watching.
