#MetalDetecting
About Nugget Noggin:
Hey! I'm Michael, I love to get outdoors and discover awesome things
with my metal detector. I started treasure hunting when I was 12 years
old and shortly after received my first metal detector. Since then, I've
been hooked and just love going out to search for the unknown. You
may see me in the woods crawling under an old house or diving down
in the river to search for rings. Wherever the adventure brings us, I'll try
my best to keep you entertained.

A nail to hold the coil. I reckon that's why it was in the woods. The owner probably thought it was broken since he wasn't finding anything after putting the nail in.
+martinmanufacturing I thought the same thing lol, must be Americans liking that comment
Pala Luka and you must be a spoiled child running your arrogant mouth about people you don't even know.
Michael Futch why are making fun of a somebody that mistyped one letter in spelling when you intentionally added commas where they didn't belong? And why would you assume somebody was liberal especially since you're the foul mouth child acting like one?
Michael Futch grow up. Like was said you're the one acting like a liberal and you can't even punctuate a sentence correctly. Grow up. Oh,I'm far from a liberal.

Haha yes, so true! >;-D
@mtndewlover21 ha, well where is the site located then, who ever lost it didnt know much about metal detecting, you can put a metal nail in the shaft to hold up the coil, no wonder they threw it out, it would beep the entire time , lol.
Hey...DON'T knock that White's detector......I've had mine since the 70's and it is still adding to my EXTENSIVE civil war collection! I'd put it up against any detector out there!
That detector was not cheap for it's time late 70's, $200-$300 unfortunately they weren't water proof, so the electronics are probably scrap by now after being left out in the elements for any time. Still a very interesting find.
I'm 47 and have always had a fascination with "old things".Really enjoying your videos.Thinking of taking this up as a hobby.
surprisingly I watched this beginning to end - you got a way of makin it interesting
Nice videos. That "pot metal" key goes with that tag from the bank. The key went to a safe deposit box. The insurance through F.D.I.C was up to $100K per box
Ain't that ironic, you go metal detecting: find a metal detector. 😂
Yeah, that's not a 'cheap' detector. Looks to be rather high end for its era.
hahah actually ive caught a fishing rod while fishing before also.
them crush bottles are kinda hard to find,, worth about 30 bucks a piece for the diamond shaped design ones.. i found a younger one in this video but still hard to find.. they are not for sell..
@ncsilverspider yes i will , i'm going to go back and show that guitar, has a hole it in that why i didnt show it but it was in the woods
This is one of my favorite videos! You found a metal detector while metal detecting!
Perhaps the coinmaster got abanded because the previous owner couldn't be bothered with using something non metal as a replacement hinge? I can't imagine anybody replacing that pin with something IRON and still being able to detect anything.
i have both the RAVEN and Piranha. there is no doubt that the Piranha is better.. get the foot pads too. it will keep holes from ever getting made in your boots.
thank you
there is one on craigslist today for sale. cheap. I would hunt that more, those whites were poor at depth. looks like fun. wish I could go too much snow!
You made me start metal detecting please write back
lol a nail to keep the coil on i bet it didn't have discrimination got upset cause it just kept reading the nail and tossed it lol funny as shit
?
johnny alvarez Maybe those ones only detect shit directly below the coil, though?
The nail was a replacement for a Bolt... There both metal.. Ask yourself that 7 dummies
It's they're not there dummy
It is always a pleasure to see your videos on you tube here in California.
Most of my family worked for Briggs and Stratton. Great find!
@Legonut88 nope, been out there for like 30 year probably
welll AT PRO is the best bang for your buck.. it is also waterproof to 10ft deep.. it has good target seperation in heavy iron infested sites.. im sorry for the late response.. i usually respond in like 8 hours or less..
Great finds,NN, never heard of anyone actually detecting a detector before! Hope you got your $100,000. All the best, HH.
@realredrebel i forgot to say it is from 1982
@Vidslayer i found a few bones but i think they were from a deer but not sure
You have some great videos, I am glad I found you and I hope you keep doing what makes you good at what you do.
@MegaFranko28 i'm using a Fisher F75, fisher is the brand, F75 is the model.
My brother in law has a machine just like it! His father left it to him years ago. Quite a machine in it's glory days!
Hey nuggett.. you ever try out the whites?
How do you get permission to get access to all these places. Secondly, what is the point of a "bottle dump", or why did they do it? Just shocked at the number of bottle dumps you come across, and I've never seen one.
Did you ever get that 100.000 dollars?
sweet finds its cool to look back and see how life was back in the good ol days
the hunk of iron could be a meteorite?
777dingo i think it was a meteorite
I like to watch your videos all the time keep up the good work
My dad use to have a detector like that back in the day. Thats a great find.
Breaks my heart knowing you found a guitar someone left behind - but if it wasn't one that sang, hurts a bit less.
I've also done that! Pulled up a Orvis fly rod with a Gunnison reel!
wonder if the old detector works?
hay nugget that whites has a great coil on it detects very deep I brought one at a garage sell for 5 dollars and used it on the beach it detected several items over 4 foot deep
Yeah right
had a really old, cheapy detector a while back with a broken stem. fixed it with duct tape, hard wood slivers and hose clamps. i turned it on and its screaming like nobody's business and no matter what knob i turn it won't stop. wasn't til i junked it, bought an ace 350 and saw half the stem was plastic that i learned the field on a coil goes up as well as down.
Just watched this video for the first time my mother has that metal detector and it still works. We don't use it now it has been retired
that nail holding the coil on is undoubtedly why he left it...he went crazy
Haha yeah , I still have this old detector too
@blackhead2009 nope, lol i put it beside my hole to pretend like it still works, but it dont have the battery pack and rusted up knobs.
Those Whites used to be pretty common but were definitely not cheap. Which, is why I ended up with a Garretts in the early 80s.
I like your videos, forget about the haters. You have helped inspire me to start doing this myself...thanks for you creativity and leadership.
The metal detector still has to be one of ya best finds. Great hunting
love that roosevelt play coin id like to have that for my collection lol
Awesome video and hunt ! Congrats on all your finds and good luck on your next hunt.
Did you keep the GOB can?
i have one of those whites coin masters, same model as that, still works great
I think that detector is from the 70s... It looks like the one me and my Dad had when I was a teenager... Congrats on the find... Good luck on your next hunt.
I can tell that you certainly love life and love getting out into nature. I'd give anything if I could get my boy off the couch and from in front of his video games and doing the kind of stuff you do! Your amazing.
A blast from the past. Wonder how many empty holes that fella dug for the nail? Ha, 7 years later and your still enjoying the hunt. Very neat. From what I could make of the plaque sounded like the cemetary held some charished workers to the family who they worked for. Maybe some day they'll do some ground penetration and put some decent markers there for them. Have a great weekend and God bless.
you got that right, they don't know what they are doing, and they plant all there finds. all mine is real.
yep i found that info too when i googled it a year ago hah..
Nugget, that Whites was top of the line for in its day sir.
Those old TR units can see right through iron trash, just saying. Used an old Compass TR for about 10 years and it would run circles around any VLF in high iron trash areas, especially around old burned down houses with lots of rusty nails in the ground.
@treasurepirate1 it's a hot rock, i cleaned it up more, i found 3 or 4 of them
My wife laughed about finding that detector. Said it was ironic. The White's dealer in Scotland (where I downloaded the manual for the one I have) has a lot of stuff about older models. I'll see if I can find that one.
The TR means Transmit and Receive. It has to do with the way the electronic signal was produced to find the object.
@nuggetnoggin..I could sit and watch ur videos for hours, lol you find anything and everything even an old detector lol, American Diggers has got alot to learn to be anywhere near as good as you are buddy.
When you find 47 lbs. of gold, you forget about your detector.
yes i know that
Hey...I think you're down by me. Is that the McCoy Cemetery off Beatties Ford road...near Long Creek? If so that's about 30 minutes from some of the places I detect at... - Jay
cool finds neat stuff :) i like the coinmaster detector find very cool :)
Where does he live?
that was a set of very cool places to hunt man well done for finding that and WOW a metal detector hahaaa thats awesome! Keep it up!
Nice finds NN Congrats!!
@vcstar5 lol no your dont, who said i was detecting where i lived at, i was hunting 35 miles from the house
my first detector was a Garrett's coin shooter or something to that name, but it made a sound like a cash register when you found coins. It was light and simple but lacked depth, I used to fill coffee cans with change at the local highschool courtyard. I actually got tired of bending over to pick up coins. I bought a Fisher CZ6 that was really good at locating indian head pennys. I almost filled an entire coin book with that detector. The one I have now is also a Fisher but is pretty much like the first Garrett I owned. The headphone jack no longer works so I have to use it speaker only ( which I hate) I have no idea why. I should send it in for repair ( Fisher has a life time warrentee).
Think my favorite here was the play coin, though I appreciate the bank token, I mean who wouldn't
Very cool man!
I love finding junk. I dont know y either! Lol
Thanks Turnriver, that bit of info is helpful and my frustration has lessened. I always appreciate tips. What state do you hunt in?
Wow. Vintage Noggin. Cool.
I had a White Coinmaster in the 80's it was pretty expensive then, I have used it in Old Orchard Me, and Cap Cod Ma, now I owned a Garrett Pro!
I always joke when people ask me what's the strangest thing I ever found. I always say another metal detector but you actually found one?! Lmbo
i was hoping to see the Briggs and Stratton tag... tags for the old engines can be worth quite a bit of money if there in ok condition...
if that "iron chunk" at the end looks like a rock and is magnetic, you might have found a meteorite.
We know where you live now. Exploring all that area has to be a blast.
That TR was fun to use. it was the best type of detector of its time. It was better than the BFO detectors of the time.
@f0Xy251 i collect them, finders keepers, i use google maps and scroll around and look for old vacant houses.
awesome glass insulator:)
there is an old cemetery by me ..the few head stones that are still there are marked late 1700's the rest of the stones are piled up in a corner of the cemetery .no one seems to know anything about the place other than there used to by a church there also...I found what is left of the foundation not sure where to find out any info on there place
Wow! You must have went through a lot of trouble to get permission to hunt all those homesteads. Nice finds.
I cant belive that you left that military aircraft lub behind thats better than the detector!!! Very nice video
Does the metal detector you found work?
My mum loves listening about your Civil war history and also my mum said why does nobody live in these properties when there is nothing wrong with some of them 👼🏻👍🙏🏻🇬🇧 as you would say God bless and happy hunting
That's a vintage metal detector! It may fetch some dough if cleaned up.
I found a plastic toy soldier with a metaldetector (he was holding one) on the beach in ireland once
Hey. Love the videos. That detector find is crazy.....
Don't sell that coinmaster short. I found an 1850 upper Canada half cent and an 1893 Indian head cent with mine the other day. Bought it in the early seventies for $125.00. Love your videos.
So the big dumb obvious question is if you try returning the tag for fun - money kind of ruins the fun of finding things but it'd be a thrill to get those crazy moments - like finding a metal detector lol (Still can't believe they left it)
What camera are you using? I can hear the motor when you zoom. Is it from the 70's?
havent tried.
Nice to find a metal detector... with a metal detector, awesome vids.
did you keep the metal detector if so did it work
THE HOT ROD GUYS KAI HO
@nuggetnoggin yeah, just curious about the cemetery you were at so I looked it up. and also i am jealous of your warm weather already.
I have a White's coin master, still works and everything
I appreciate you and other metal detecting enthusiasts for taking the time and trouble to do these videos. That metal detector you found may have been left intentionally. I get frustrated, but not to that point. You see I'm not too experienced, but I'm going tomorrow with an experienced friend with my Ace 250. I have been watching yours and others videos as motivation. I live in southern Louisana. Any tips from you or others on the Ace 250 or hunting areas appr3eciated.
