- It's the video you've all been waiting for... It's the video where Zac makes his custom micarta handles for the Spyderco Shaman! The Spycarta Shaman!! Check out the Spyderco Shaman here: goo.gl/SrPggD
This is exactly the type of content I've been looking for. What's even more refreshing is the overall quality of the video. Your AV guy knows what he's doing and both Ben and Zac seem really comfortable in front of a camera. Don't stop putting out these videos. Please. The internet is a better place with you all in it.
Holly crap I just seen this comment on a video today. Ccrazzyy that i found it
You guys should do a series called Zac’s workshop where he does custom scales and other stuff like that
Nick DeBruijn I agree!
Please!!!
Yes just yes
Ill throw my hat in the ring on the "fuck yeah" to that happening
Dang, I remember watching this video and thinking WOW. Good luck on your future endeavors Zac!!! 👊
This might be the coolest video I’ve ever seen on this channel. I’d love to see more of people pimping there knives!
Agreed!
what a lot of people may or may not noticed in this video was when Ben asks Zac, "did you learn more on this project .. or was it more of a passion project". Its like ben is giving Zac a moment to reflect on why he does the awesome things he does and I loved that moment , Maybe I'm just a weirdo but I thought that was awesome !
Damn Zac is like the coolest dude ever.
This video is the whole reason I picked up my own Shaman last week at BladeHQ! My favorite Spyderco ever!
Not a big fan of the pattern and colors of the scales but I gotta say, that was cool as hell!!! Very skilled craftsman.... I respect this dude...good work
The coolest BHQ video so far! Being able to custom make micarta scales is extremely impressive! Hearing the story of the burlap turned into micarta is awesome to hear. Thanks for the great video!
Great to see someone making their knife truly their own. Awesome work Zac!
Zac you made that look way too easy!!! - I don’t think people know how hard that really is to do-Great job! And of course great support and backup from Ben-You guys rock
Honestly really cool. Really nice work to do that without a cnc, even with a jig and basic tools it's still really impressive to me that everything matched up right
I love that you can see the depth of the burlap in the scales!
Zac needs a TH-cam channel for more projects like this! And that Suzuki is so awesome!
Now to get Zac started on making a batch as a blade he exclusive lol. Too cool man, really glad your likeing the new knife, it makes me want one even more.
Hands down one of the most entertaining, best, and coolest video y'all have put it
Let's take a minute and look at the awesome gem that is the 1983 Honda CX650 in the shop. Great little classic bike my dude. I'm currently restoring one.
Love this guy! I'm not a huge knife person but never miss his videos!
That is incredible, it looks amazing!!!
Great job, Zach! 😃 🏁
I think they need to make antler scales for a marttiini mef8
I'm very impressed. You did a great job, and the fact that you were able to get some good looking, and functioning scales, using the tools you had....like I said, I'm impressed!. The film, and editing was very good, overall great content!
Amazing job zac coming from a guy who truly appreciates the kind of hard work and dedication it takes to even have a shop that well equipped. It is refreshing to know that it's not just pencil pushers (like Ben) walking around blade HQ. It makes me want to buy knives from you guys. And just kidding by the way Ben you know we love you. Keep up the good work guys!👍🏼
Luv the Shaman and luv the vid. Great job Zack. Looks awsome its unique to you now. Luv what the world of knives is doing and how far it has come. Here bfor guns and still withstanding the test of time. 9ife lives matter.
Zac that Shaman looks amazing! Love seeing craftsman make their tools personal. Awesome video guys.
That is very cool. Watching the process was so neat.
Yeah, a video on how you did the burlap layup would be cool. Great project and love the way it turned out.
Glad to see that Zac is reping a Black Diamond headlamp!
Man that took that knife up 10 levels! Well done. would love to see more similar videos from you guys!
Its videos like this that makes me miss zach, we need more workshop videos
Beautiful craftsmanship Zac.
Love this!! Knife makers take note, WE WANT MICARTA scales,,!
My favorite Blade HQ video by far. Keep it up.
Great video Zach and friends. Was refreshing contrast to the table talk
Very cool dude! Please BladeHQ, more of these videos. (With Zac)
By far the best video yall have put out, and I think all your videos are great.
So cool watching a craftsman work.
Looks good man! Specially for a first attend!! Great job!
Pretty cool, Zac...Nicely done!!!
Great job! Need more videos like this. P.s. I'm also a lover of classic Japanese bikes.
Great video. Would love to see more of this type, maybe some interview and shop tours of other knife makers.
Thanks well done.
Ben seems like such a down to earth 100% awesome guy that would get along with anybody.
Nice work! I think the pattern is fantastic.
Best looking scale's I have ever seen!
Damn you Zac!! Now I want to a Spyderco
Glad we could help! -Eric
That’s awesome man! I wish there was more offerings for Shaman scales, I like the smooth black ones on mine but wish it was just a tad more ruff.
Zac is so cool. Down to earth, genuinely a pleasant person :)
I love these videos away from the table, keep it up boys.
Love this video. I’ve recently gotten into Spyderco and love the idea of personalizing it
I definitely feel some more maker videos should be made. It's fun to see this type project cut into a shorter segment
Looks more like a "working" man's Sharman now Zac. Throughly enjoy the vid, thanks for sharing with us.
Nicely done Zac 👍👍👍👍
A tip for getting the side of the scale that’s being glued to the handle is to NOT use the belt grinder. Get a flat piece of metal and tape a piece of 120 sand paper to it. Then rub the scale over it until it’s flat. Then you won’t have that gap, which happened on the back of yours. Cya man, enjoyed the vid
Super badass looking great job and decision on the knife
I really enjoyed this video, it's in your top 3. This is why I love knives... the part where you make it yours... the part where the factory stops and the knife starts to gain character and life. 10,000 dudes are walking around with a shamen in their pocket..... but there is only one Columbian. Awesome work, awesome video.... and like the old commercial says, "Columbian, it's the richest kind". Inspiring vid!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys should do more episodes like this love it
I, for one, would really like to see some more content like this. Maybe do a top 10 customizeable knives? I know basically any can be made custom, but there are some newer ones that have come out that it really seems like the manufacturers WANT people to have fun and make their stuff unique.
Yess!!! I have been looking forward to this video for a long time!!
Man, so no blade hq Sprint run custom Micarta burlap scales coming soon? Lol still looks extraordinary sweet.
We need a sprint run of these for sure Spyderco
Spyderco, please we need this.
What a great video. Love you guys at Blade HQ.
Fine work Zac!
That's an awesome video, you guys should do more like that!!! I suddenly want to make my own Micarta scales LOL
That is awesome! I want one. Then I want you to do that to the Ouroboros. Nice job Zac.
Damn did i get called out hard by that license plate. Conan forever!!!
Zac’s got skills! Do more of these videos plz
Great work zac I'm really digging what u bring to the table at blade hq. I'm definitely someone who really uses his tools but takes care of them like you do
Dope video! I would buy a shaman if it came with those scales!! Nice work.
Love the 3 pound weight at Ben's desk. Now we see how he keeps up that physique.
dude that was awesome! y'all should do more vids like this!
That’s awesome man! Love that knife!
Looks awesome man, nice job.
Thanks Zac i have been looking for a decent way to make some scales without a CNC machine for awhile now and this seems doable . I am a carpenter and i have most of these tools and I’m going to try and swing it.
Do more of these I liked it a lot.
From one bladesmith to another, with same tools as your shop, decent work!! You should try texturing the scales with your dremel next. It’s pretty easy
Nice work. Looks good!
Beautiful!! I may need to get a Shaman in the future!
Amazing, more content like this please!!!
I want one!!! Looks so good love the character of it
Wow Really Nice/Beautiful Handle making in video!!!👍😄😎👌
Aka you're awesome make great handle for knifes 10out10
I'm so hyped. I'm so ready for this.
*sarcasm detected
Ahh that was satisfying. Well done! Now when can I buy some for my pm2?
Eric Shepard is the man when it comes to custome scales. Y’all should interview him
Very cool video. Something different.👍
That's just amazing... love it!!!
Very nice job , I have a shaman and those trips would be sweet
Holy #@$@$ that was impressive. Nice work man
Wow those look great!
Omg yesss loves this video is there an option for that instead of liking it?
Or the order button so I can get some of those scales for my Shaman :D
Really enjoyable video, nice work.
This is sick.... I would love to do something like this.
Great video! You guys rock!
Great job, very cool video.
"it turned out pretty deese"
This was super rad!!
I thought it was really interesting that you worked from the inside out like that. I would have made the outside dimensions of the scales first, and then hollowed out the interior second. I like your method better, way more controllable. I was going to make some scales using denim, I think that would look cool. Thanks for sharing the vid, the shaman is getting more appealing by the day!
The Enzo necker has a 'blue jeans micarta' option and it looks really cool on certain knives , id go for it !
Great job and great video.
🔥 You are a DIY Jedi 🔥
Great work!!
Great work!!!!
This was an awesome video!
Amazing. You can make scales for my Shaman any day!
Awesome job!!!
Freaking awesome video guys!
