    Thank you for the way you are teaching. There are so many other artists that just draw and say do this. You took the time to show how you blocked and connected everything. You have my support! thanks!

    Ya thanks man. I try to do a mix of 50% what other people want to see and 50% of what I like to do. I think that gives my channel a good balance that allows everyone including me to enjoy it :)

    Glad I could help buddy! Thanks a bunch for watching! :)

  • @stevesartstudio
    @stevesartstudio  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thats why I taught that in the first video. I tried to keep this really simple. Kids need to figure some of it out on their own.

  • @stevesartstudio
    @stevesartstudio  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It helps to have certain elements flowing through your piece. Like all art, graffiti must have a great use of balance.

    Good job. The key is to keep it simple and over time you will learn to slowly add more to your letters.

    Hey Steve. Once again thank you for taking the time and actually making these videos. Your channel is by far the best I have seen. Meaning the actual time you take to describe the structure , 3D effects, connecting letters etc... Thanks man keep it coming I'm in my 30's and finally learning what I always wanted to.

  • @stevesartstudio
    @stevesartstudio  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ya this was done very quick so it isnt my best piece of work but I think it really helps teach people how to connect letters while keeping it simple. You can take what you learn from this and add your own style. It took me a long time to figure out how simple it can be to do graffiti. I'm glad you wont have to waste all the time I did when I first started :)

  • @stevesartstudio
    @stevesartstudio  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great question Tianni! I change it up slightly from piece to piece but for the most part I stick to my main style of keeping my letters somewhat simple. I really have a thing for simplistic letters that are somewhat legible. The simple letter structure is usually the same but the "decorations" if you will, are alwayse slightly different. My mood often depicts the style of my letters. Check out some of my other work and youll notice the slight differences from piece to piece. Hope that helps :)

    hahaha I know the silly thing never stops barking haha. I had to tell Sophie to be quiet so I could finish LOL! You can be. It just takes practise. Thanks for your support Raspberry! :)

    haha thanks buddy! its my pleasure! just start out simple and you will become a great graffiti artist in no time! :)

  • @stevesartstudio
    @stevesartstudio  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks man! ya it really is easy when you break it down to the fundamentals. Just keeping it simple gives you a good structure to work with. Then the fun starts and you can add your own style to it. :)

    Hi steve I think I am a little bit experienced in graffiti and i have some tips for you how i started doing this kinda of stuff. What are you teachinn is combining letters and thats cool. But you dont need that stuff until you do wildstyles (wildstyle is a hardest to do letter structure in graffiti). I think first thing you need to teach your viewers what is flow and how flow is created then basic handstyles/ basic letter structure from stick letters then then try to do bubble letters which leads to throwups. After throwups you can do straight letters then more advanced pieces then Semi wildstyles and then wildstyles but to get to wildstyle level you need from 2 to 4 years. It took to me 3 years to me to do a wildstyle . So dont be in a rush get your basics down . if you want to learn something about sycle in graffiti there is some cool channels like Jon GRIM. Good luck. And keep up the good work !

    Hey man, thats really good to hear! Learning about letter structure and construction lines is the foundation. Once you know that you will improve very quickly. Graffiti is like designing a car. You build that frame first. Then once thats done you can start to really design the look of the body. Thanks for watching Raphael! :)

    haha no problem. We all were at one point in time. I never call anyone a toy whos just starting. The only people I would call a toy are people who totally bite other peoples work or people who use graffiti generators. If your trying to learn to do it on your own than I have tons of respect for you. Just keep doing your thing and keep having fun with it! :) And thanks for the nice comment! :)

    have a nice sharp pencil or even a mechanical pencil and draw your lines fast. Like make them nice quick movements. When you draw them slowly with a bad pencil the have a tendency to come out looking rough. Hope that helps Devin! :)

  • @stevesartstudio

    The best advice I can give you for that is to make sure that your lines are all nice and straight. do the original piece with pencil and then go over it with a dark black pen and try your best to make all the lines nice and smooth. That will make the difference between a good and sloppy looking piece. hope that helps a little.

    just start off by not connecting them. get used to putting them in the right positions so that they look good together. Then after a while just make little connections.

  • @stevesartstudio
    @stevesartstudio  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Its good to stick with short names. 5 letters is the most you should use. So Ally is a good one to use. The only thing hard about that name is that you have to use two L's in a row. It can be hard to make two of the same letters in a row look good but it is possible. Go to google images and type in "seen graffiti". This will give you an idea of how someone else does this. As for style, don't worry about it too much yet. First work on your basic letter structure. Continued...

    Hey man. Thanks for the nice comments. I really appreciate it. I dont have a lot of time on my hands and it wouldnt be fair if I did your name because I have had so many people ask me to do theirs as well. The truth is, you gotta figure out how to do your own name yourself. You need to figure out a style that you like. Only you can figure out what kind of letters/style suits you. Again I wish I could help but I'm just so busy right now. Thats cool that your a Marine. Chek out my soldier painting

    Once you manage to get all the letters well spaced and sitting together nicely than you can start adding your own style. Lots of people use arrows but this gets kind of boring. Try to think of something that expresses you as an artist. Maybe you can somehow incorporate heart shapes if your the luvy duvy type. Or some squiggly lines if your somewhat crazy lol. Long story short, style will come over time but the most important thing when you start is to learn letter structure. Hope this helps! :)

    Ya man you can totally leave the lines. Or even just leave half of them. If you decided you wanted to leave all of the lines I would suggest placing the vanishing point directly in the middle of the piece. Not below it but literally under the middle of the piece. Hope that makes sense. Long story short, you can do whatever you can think of. This is why you do everything in pencil first. To see if it looks good before you ink it. Hope that helps buddy! :)
