first time I've seen anyone using a glove; it seems so sensible: why does'nt everyone use it?

Well you would need the gloves if you’re expecting to get splinters; by the time someone experienced over 20 years does this, they’re used to it because they get callouses on their hands which absorb the splints for the most part. This person seems to be working in an active shop with numerous workers, so I’d presume that they’re relatively new at the job. Hope I’m wrong and that this is in fact for safety measures: I’m looking to make an electric cello by 3D printing the parts and assembling it using modern manufacturing techniques, but I want to see the exact dimensions of an instrument’s body and perhaps leave a backdrop so I can improve the design to have an acoustic body (not sure how cheap you can get the maple and the spruce though, and the tooling I’d bet costs hundreds for a good set). Being a bit inspired by cigar box guitars, I’d love to hear your opinion on having a cheap (but high quality) practice/electric instrument. It’s for my high school senior project, that is, so it’s not going to get big unless I can spread word about it.
