Apart from the singer being with Novelist FR now, does someone know what is the rest of the band doing? I really liked their sound and would be a shame that the other guys are not creating something elsewhere. Those guitar tones and riffs are amazing and so unique. Their last album and the last 3 songs they putted out are so good.

Kassim was such a good singer, but Tobias’ voice seems to fit the emotion of the songs better without breaking away from the heaviness of the subject matter.
It has a very Dave Stephens feel to it, which is cool.
I'm gonna be in the minority here, but I wasn't a big fan of Kassim. I've always enjoyed the Burning Down Alaska era of the band more and imo this is the best thing they've released since they became ALAZKA.

Nick Simmons I do think Kassim should try to do some work with the band Imminence. They have vocalist who I think would play well with Kassim’s. Considering he’s from Germany, though, it may be difficult. Imminence is Swedish.

To be honest, i wasn't expecting much from this after I read Kassim left. The dynamics of his cleans with the screams from Tobias were the main reason i loved this band.
But then came the chorus... AND I WAS BLOWN AWAY!

This is incredible! I really enjoyed Phoenix, but Values & Virtues was phenomenal to me. Kassim's vocals were always a hit or miss for me, but I definitely respected his talent. Felt like he wanted to be more R&B. This has a nice blend of both Phoenix and Values & Virtues imo. The uncleans, incredible guitar work, ambient vibe, and lyrics is what I've always loved about this band, and this new single is filled with that. Stoked for the next album.
Personally, I was a bit disappointed with the news that Kassim and Dario had departed from the band. Kassim is the reason I sing and am inspired to keep singing. I would go as far as to say he has been my favorite vocalist. His voice was that of both an angel and a God. But this band, ALAZKA. These guys have helped me through SO MUCH. And I can't lie. The minute I heard that guitar start up and Tobias vocals hit...I knew, this was ALAZKA. And no matter what kind of change the band has over the years...this will always be ALAZKA. I love you guys ❤

Bei aller Liebe zu Kassim der echt gesegnet ist mit seiner Stimme: Für mich ist Tobi einfach DIE Stimme für Alazka. Und das er jetzt auch noch so geniale Cleans mit einbindet wie hier macht mich mehr als Happy. Der Song ist eine amtliche Ansage. Chapeau!

Gründe kann man nur spekulieren aber ich könnte mir was in Richtung "Solo" vorstellen und etwas fernab vom Metal.

I listen and am incredibly sorry that the group broke up. Three songs from the unreleased album are just mind blowing!
When I opened the video, I had this feeling in my gut telling me Kassim had left. That's what I feared, and I hoped my gut was wrong. I really liked him, and I'm really sad about it.
But this is good!
Yea I never felt like he really fit the genre but he definitely had a dope voice my guess is he wants to go more towards a poopy sound and didn't like the heaviness of Alazka
@@nashgross8658 While I partially agree with you, that's just the thing that made me like him so much: the poppy, yet totally dope vibe he brought to the table was something so unique and amazing that it was the reason I got into their stuff. I absolutely loved the genre mix he delivered.
However, I hope this new guy does a new job the best way he can, and as far as we can tell, he is great!

I also had the same feeling. I gotta be honest, I was uncertain if they were gonna have Kassim for another album because I'd imagine that there was a lot of creative differences that Tobias and Kassim had to deal with to create Phoenix; although they'd never publicly admit that. I'm extremely torn about his departure.

"Pheonix" was probably the best album I've listened to as a whole. Literally, all the songs were amazing. A perfect combination of clean and strong vocals, a lot had to do with Kassim. Very unique! But Tobias' cleans are great too! Not the same, but not bad! I can't wait to hear more from you guys. I was heartbroken when you guys didn't make any more music. Welcome back!
