she finally called my name after 50 years of waiting!!

She saw me in some episodes, but in this one she didn’t and even though I’m not mad, I was so super disappointed as a kid. Childhood was great, but kind of challenging, and I always waited for the end of the show for her to see me and when she didn’t, it was like everything fell flat the songs were just wonderful though!
Was never seen... :( I guess it was the same for many french-canadians.
One of my sisters’ got name checked three times, in this compilation. At least our inner 5 year olds can be mopey together.
She never saw me, and I will always hold a grudge. My sisters? Yes!! Me?! No!!
I guess this show pissed off more people than it made happy. How traumatic!
"And David who plays soccer." I honestly remember waiting for and listening so carefully at the end when she did this. I dont remember ever hearing my name back then but now I just did. 40 years later:) Thank you for preserving and sharing these memories.

There was never any disclaimer written on the bottom of the screen. We were clasping our hands every time, only to be let down! Seeing this just brought back all these horrible memories of not hearing my name. I need to be on suicide watch!

Even though I grew up here in Buffalo, we had a great TV antenna on the roof and I used to watch this as a kid along with Mr. Dress-up and the Uncle Bobby Show.
I remember being one of the kids on this show since it was filmed at the Kitchener location.

I don't know if I should hold on to my Romper Room rage from childhood that she didn't call my name, or be glad that she didn't see me and know who I was.

If I was a doctor and someone came to me with a headache, I would ask them if Romper Room ever said their name. If not, then that's the likely cause of the headache and I would adjust the treatment accordingly. 😂
