    OMG! I absolutely loved the Conan stage show when I was a kid. I can still remember the cool rain curtain that obscured the set until the show started. Awesome show! At least 7 yr. old me sure thought so. Not sure how it would have aged. The Miami Vice show was also freakin’ awesome! Wish you would’ve shown that.

    DAMN! What a good video! This brings me back to 1999 when I was there with fam. I wish I'd go there in 2017 but we did Six Flags instead, looks like I could've enjoyed the old Jurassic Park and some others! But really miss Back To The Future and ET. Ahh...Amazing tho thx a lot!

    What I miss the most is Backdraft and the next door special effects stage. Not so much because they were so wonderful and amazing (although I do really like them) but because of what they represented. They were classic Universal Studios Hollywood where we were seeing how movies are made, not just going on rides based on movies. Destroying those to replace with the extremely lackluster Transformers ride is the best representation of the shift in USH from a unique backstage experience to just another theme park. Orlando is much more impressive when it's a theme park vs when it tried to be something it wasn't (an actual studio) and the same is true in Hollywood but in reverse.

    Seeing that King Kong animatronic must have been breathtaking, too bad they replaced him with a screen - although I understand they didn't want to create another expensive animatronic.

    • @ThemeSeekers
      @ThemeSeekers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True! It's an unfortunate trend in theme park attractions though. It takes a little bit away from the magnitude of a ride.

      It was great. If that was the only practical effect they got rid of, it would have been unfortunate, but OK. But it seems to be what they've been doing with Universal for years and years.

    I really miss the universal house of horrors Attraction and I wish it had been a little longer in the park since to be honest I was never interested in the walking dead and when they included it as a replacement for the old attraction I was disappointed as the Universal's house of horrors was timeless and its monsters were icons that is why I prefer the old attraction a thousand times than the walking dead to and as a suggestion for a video you can talk about Universal hollywoodland Universal's canceled European amusement park which looked quite promising and which I would have liked to see even if it had been built elsewhere in Europe

    • @ThemeSeekers

    I had Season Passes to Universal in 1994 through 1996 while I was going to college in the area.
    I loved Backdraft, Back to the Future, and Jurassic Park (way back when it first opened). I also loved the season pass back then, as it let you skip the line entirely for the tour (where I ADORED the King Kong) -- a couple of college friends, all of whom were over 21, in a park that served beer? Who WOULDN'T grab a few beers and ride the tram? ...And try to mess with the tour guide (I once had the guy laughing so hard he couldn't explain one of the attractions)
    I believe the spinning tunnel in the Mummy part of the tour was previously "Dante's Peak"-themed (with the walls painted to simulate fire/lava). And then it was ice-themed for a while (I don't remember what for)
    I went back a few years ago (pre-COVID) with my kids. It was WAY more crowded, and all of the "screen-based" rides took away so much of the charm of the park. And while I don't hate Jimmy Fallon, I do miss when the tour guides on the tram did all of the talking.

    My family had season passes in 07, and I was fortunate to experience the Back to the future ride before it’s discontinuation. I was sad but a little excited because the Simpsons ride was coming to the park. And I never got to go on that one either. 😂

    The last time me and my family were able to go to Universal Studios was in 2006 so I missed out on everything from the 2010's. I never got to go through the Van Helsing walk-through, both out of nostalgia for the Mummy temple of doom and because I was little back then and almost everything scared the crap out of me. I never got to experience Halloween horror nights. And I never got to see the last showings of the Shrek and Terminator 3d films. I don't hate the new attractions at all but I feel Universal Studios got way smaller than I remember from the 2000's cause there used to be so much more.

    • @ThemeSeekers
      @ThemeSeekers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You didn't miss much with Van Helsing to be honest 😂 you're right it does feel a bit smaller now but that kind of happens with most things as we get older!

    Speaking of The Simpsons Ride. I am interest in bringing that Simpsons motion simulator ride from Universal Studios Hollywood to Disneyland to replace Star Tours. However this version will be in 3D and with Dolby Atmos, will have more stuffs on the queue and exit through Kwik-E-Mart. This idea was based on my joke i did WAY before Disney owns Fox and the fact that Star Wars: Galaxy Edge opens.

      @@ThemeSeekers I personally always thought it was a bad idea that they did an entire attraction of the walking dead because unlike its predecessor The attraction was going to be Outdated since the property of the walking dead was going to be something from the past, not like the Universal's House of Horrors which its monsters were timeless

    • @ThemeSeekers
      @ThemeSeekers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True! House of Horrors always seemed in danger of being rethemed to whatever the next big craze was abd for Universal to sell a few more tickets. And we'll likely see them continue to do this!
