Back in the day when this car was restored they didn't do metal work like we do today. You're witnessing the results of the "hack and pack" or "cave and pave" bodywork. If anyone can save it and bring it back to its glory, it's you. You got this!
Hell yes! A charger video, I missed seeing this car! Keep going man, lots of work a head but it’s looking good, just remember it’s going to look worse before it looks better!
Amazing job young man! This build needs more subscribers!!! You're doing much better work than most on TH-cam. I appreciate the detail you are showing too. I'm turning a junk roadrunner shell into a charger shell to drop onto a newer charger (or challenger) chassis so these views really help me plan in my head. Keep up the great work!
I often watch this build and wonder how the heck he's gonna build a complete car out of that chassis? But I know he will cos he's got skills, determination, vision and dedication.
Plenty of other folks have done it, some even with worse cars than mine. Might take me a little longer to build this one, but I definitely can be done.
Just found your channel…all I can say is WOW! I’m going to go through and binge watch everything now haha Keep it up, I love the quality of your work! It’s very impressive. You are very talented, definitely earned my subscription!
It looks like the previous repairman got a really good deal on body filler. You are going to get really good at fabricating patch panels. Keep moving forward.
Man, that’s crazy my 1969 Charger that I found in 2022 was parked up in 1985. Crazy to think it only drove around for 16 years before it met its abandonment.
You doing a great job keep up the good work!! But all cars back in the day came from the factory with covered in Bondo, my Uncle bought a brand new 1968 Chevy 2 Nova and he got rear-ended when he was 10 years old it was like 5 lb of Bondo that shattered into a thousand pieces and fell off the cars quarters onto the road
The reason for all the bondo is because when the repair on your car was made there wasn’t any replacement panels available. It wasn’t until those Fast and Furious and new Dukes of Hazard movies gave the gen 2 Chargers recognition that they started making more panels available.I remember years ago when YearOne didn’t even have them . This and time to work on a project is the reason I’m just now getting started on my 69. Now thank God you can just about build one from the ground up out of store bought parts.
@@camracing It may seem a daunting task but like eating an elephant take one bite at a time and you'll get there, btw cool you repping my fellow Canadians at the old car channel.
Don't get discouraged, you are doing something that 99.999% of people restoring a car won't do. Or cannot do, keep at it Cal!
Much appreciated, one piece at a time. I just have to remind myself that haha

Cave and pave sounds about right haha. Appreciate it Ali!
I'm glad to see you back on the Charger
Absolutely incredible build so far. Incredible eye and mind for the future of your build. Solid and sweet Charger coming soon!
We’ll get there soon, much appreciated!
Not many people would take on such a task. You definitely are dedicated

Makes me happy your enthused to see it back haha. One step at a time she’ll come back to life.
Your metal working skills are pretty wild. I could never do what you are doing.
Learning as I go, trying to improve every step
Just started restoring a 73 charger. Been watching these for inspiration. Keep up the great work!
Much appreciated!
Restoring 70s Charger is one of my dream. I'm happy to see your progress going on.
Sometimes you’ve got to tear it down to it’s last good piece before you can rebuild it. But you KNOW it’ll be better in the end. 👍🏻
Yes sir, and rebuild it back, better then before.
pretty jealous you got a charger. can't wait to see finished product
Long ways to get there, but it should be worth it.
Looking good Cale! Once that quarter goes on, you will really feel like you are getting somewhere. Just keep fixing...just keep fixing...
#Junkerup Chis Birdsong !! Is the Man to follow if your rebuilding one of these cars. Lots of good information there !!👌👍🤗

I’m ready to go threw all the steps on the fixing this video 💯
Great video! Can’t wait to see the Charger come back together. Best build on TH-cam! Hope you are able to locate the factory dimensions.
Much appreciated, thank you! I’ve found some sources, talking with some other folks though to see which ones are legit👍

It will be all worth it when the new metal is on.
Yes sir, that is true
Email Birdsong. That dude knows his chargers and probably knows the measurements.

Much appreciated!

Appreciate it buddy!
You do a great job!
Great work young man. Enjoy your vids

That’s pretty wild for sure, kind of sad in sense

Oh geez, this one had the quarter replaced at some point (was very obvious with how bad it was) so I’d assume all the bondo was from that.
👋Cam Racing, 😃
🙌
Can you post some of that Bondo to me In Australian??? Happy to pay for it and postage 👌🏽👌🏽
What did you do when the new floor pan and front/rear suspension that you built?
I still have it. Just set off to the side for now while I focus on the sheet metal😃
Man did they use a shovel to slap that bondo in place, Holy Hannah. 😅
It was on there thick lol
@@camracing It may seem a daunting task but like eating an elephant take one bite at a time and you'll get there, btw cool you repping my fellow Canadians at the old car channel.
@@GWBergen61Mike is the man👍 Yes sir, one step at a time it will come back to life.
If you put some heat to that bondo it will come off a lot easier
It would probably be easier to knit an entirely new body shell from MIG wire.
Saving that idea for the next one
If nothing else, she’ll be 200 LBS lighter 😊
You got that right haha
Looks like it's a good time to make it a wide body
😏😏
@@camracing 👌🤘
Car had so much bondo a magnet wouldn't even stick to the quarters.
That is indeed true
Wow, your really whittling it down to almost nothing.
There's a saying when you find yourself in a hole stop digging
It’ll be worth in once it’s done, it all had to go.
That was from where Iam . It was rusty 20 yrs ago
No kidding, do you know anything about the car by chance?
@@camracing it set in the same place and was just rotting away.
You do a great job!
