@@MrWolvdude I LOVE your post! Bubba was such a special guy - just made you smile to think about him. I was at a Cincinnati phlocking when I was stationed at Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton Ohio. And today? I decided that I was going to dress "appropriately" for (TGIF) work, my flip flops, favorite Hawaiian top, "Fins" earings, and my pink flamingo's head band! -- I got a lot of "Phins up!" from pholks. I'm playing a gig next week and its going to be all Buffett all the time - including "Why don't we get drunk and ska rew on the play list! 🦜
This song was written by Steve Goodman Jimmy's good Chicago compadre....Steve also wrote Arlo Guthrie's biggest hit..."City of New Orleans". He was super talented and a hell of a nice guy.
In my novel 'Cowboy In the Jungle' Volume 2, the main character of the book spends time visiting Palm Oil farms near the Pacific Coast of Ecuador. I think you would enjoy the reading. Much of Jimmy's music enters the book, mostly in Volume 1.
Bubba isn't gone, he's just set his anchor at a different port...Sail on Jimmy, all of us parrot heads will catch up with you sooner or later, at that one particular harbor up there in the clouds... And what a party it will be! We'll leave the gypsies to watch the palace... Phins up! 🦜🐬💖
Rest In Peace Jimmy, the world will miss you...
Saw him 50 times. Met him twice. Great musician and only thing he ever did better was being a human being.

Those steel drums just make this song even better including Jimmy's voice.
Great Steve Goodman song. I remember sitting under a palm tree as this album spun on my turntable
Bless Jimmy for keeping the brilliant Steve Goodman's memory alive with this beautiful rendition.
My thoughts exactly. Miss Stevie every day!
Sitting here in Costa Rica this song is just about perfect. I lived it and I ain't done yet.
Great recording! Just what I needed. I miss the hell outta Jimmy man. Still sad a year later. Time is killing me.
Love ya Jimmy. My life will NEVER be the same without you here. Thank you for leaving a great life soundtrack. See you on the other side.❤
Not well known, but to me, this is THE best Buffett song, hands down!!!
❤If there was ever a song the the melody matches the words perfectly, this is the one !Sail on Jimmy❤
Great Steve Goodman song. Thanks, Jimmy!
Goodman wrote this for Buffett the same way Tom Waits wrote Jersey Girl for Bruce Springsteen.
Thank you Jimmy you and your music help me graduate high school❤
R.I.P. Jimmy, sail on...
I will miss him, just a one of a kind.
Awesome Jimmy! my good old days in Caribbean, doing everything for fun and money....
I would have truly enjoyed another 10-15 years having Jimmy around. I guess the party will continue when I pass…
... steel drum supremo !!! ... timeless song, a symptom of our society ..........
Great video, great song, great show, great venue. I'm so grateful I was able to be there.

Well, it is not "the perfect country and western song," but I love it and it never got the airplay it deserves.

Big Mac is awesome!!!
Steve Goodman song
This so reminds me of the US now....lol
Especially today
I much preferred Steve Goodman singing the song that he wrote, with only his guitar as accompaniment, and much more in tune than Buffett's version.
This song sounds so much like a slower version of the Marty Robbins Devil Women but with a caribbean flair.
Steve Goodman’s song. Steve died in the 1980s. You can find it on TH-cam and it’s better than Jimmy.
What a loss...
