I have seen many Iron Maiden concerts. I met Bruce in a hotel in Switzerland. Very humble person, I have been listening to their music for 40 years now....

I saw them only once, on this tour just before I got drafted in early 1985. Later, they only played here at the big festivals and I'm not particularly eager to go to the big fests. Rather see 3 bands in a venue than 25 bands on a rainy/hot day. But that's just me, thanks for the nice comment, cheers !
I remember when the album was released & it was the same year that my English teacher had this poem as a subject for us to study. When I told him about it, he asked me to bring it in to listen to it & play it for every class he had since, until he retired.
I got an "A+" for the test & course that year. 🤘🏻🤘🏻 The song helped A LOT of the students study it & passed it as well.
Not a lot of metal was listened to by a lot of different people but at least ONE song was by one of the "intelligent metal" bands to have made a record.
Nice memories, I saw them live with this record in Brussels just before i got drafted. Good music keeps us young, cheers and thanks !
I also quoted Iron Maiden and Metallica in my GCSE English coursework back in the day, and it was well recieved, I got an A for that coursework :)

@@mikalpestilence5601 i had a creative writing class and dude corrected me on the lyrics from flight of iccaras and gave me a failing grade for an in class assignment because of the inaccuracies in the lyrics but also cause i was supposed to describe a picture of my choice had about twenty minutes to write a 200 word description so i included the lyrics when i described the coat pin i had dude was really mad when i started talking to him without the Australian accent i faked for the first three weeks of class , ah the memories...
Yes!! Wrote my senior term paper on British metal. The teacher said the paper had to be on something from England. Got a D. She was also the choir director for our school. Needless to say I toilet papered her house. 😆 🤣

wow, I'm 63 years old, and I've never listened to Iron Maiden, there was a cover band playing recently in my city, I thought I'd take a look on You Tube to see what the real band were playing, and I turned this on, very special, especially the last half of record, top, well made, thank you, I play it often now, I didn't like this music much in the past, but if you experience a lot in life, I think (who am I) you will love this music, you will often like this very special record turn
What a great discovery! It's never too late to find and enjoy new music. Iron Maiden has a unique style, and it's fantastic that you've found them now. It's amazing how music can resonate with you at different points in your life and take on new meaning. A very old ancient poem... The poem lead to the popular belief among sailors that an albatross was a sign of good times on the sea, but if you pissed off the albatross you and your entire ship and crew are in grave danger...

When I was in college taking a Literature class my professor played this song. This song came from an 1834 poem" Rime of the Ancient Mariner."
This is like a mini movie. So captivating and compelling.

Saw Maiden on the Power Slave tour in San Diego…spring 1985. Was in my Navy “C” school for 65 weeks. Excellent concert! And more beautiful, sexy chicks than I had ever seen under one roof.

I’m 65 years old I’ve seen Iron maiden live a few times I met Bruce Divkinson once when I went yo fix a pitot head heater snag on a Boeing B737 he was flying for Astreaus airlines at Manchester UK in 2003
