So in the unpatched version, Maria's fingers have correct proportions. In the current version, her middle finger is the same length as the ring finger and forefinger which looks wierd once you notice.
It took me hearing both of them back to back to actually hear the sound of James opening the door of his car when things go black in this one as compared to In Water's ending. Completely changes my feelings on this ending, and, frankly, it *does* make sense that you don't hear Mary's letter in this one.
Weird. That would mean the Stillness ending is about James waiting to one day rejoin with Mary in death. But this is...just pasting In Water ending over. Thanks God this was adjusted.
Does the patched version have more obvious sounds of James opening the moving car door and diving out before it careens off the cliff with Mary's body? I'm being funny but also that is what people are saying is the case with Stillness since it's dumb to assume "Will you wait for me" means 'the 30 seconds its gonna take me to drive off this cliff' lmao. No-- Stillness is not a suicide ending. He chooses to live with the pain.
@@leedunkin3338 I agree with you about it being a bit awkward but I try to think of what line they could've replaced it with and I'm drawing blanks. You got any suggestions?
It's implied that in Stillness, James doesn't drive into the water with himself in the car. So he doesn't drown. He accepts that Mary has forgiven him and that she'll be waiting for him when it's his time. In In Water, he doesn't have the forgiveness from her so he drowns himself in his car, with her body in the back of the car with him. Edit: In Stillness, there's a lot of talk about whether one of the sounds heard is him opening the door, or whether he's pulling the clutch. If it's the latter, then he indeed drowns, like In Water. Whatever the answer does kinda change the context, but if he dies in both, one ending is him committing suicide due to his guilt and another is him committing suicide with absolution. Ultimately, he just wanted to be with her.
@@SKaYy94LmAoNo, In Water and Stillness are practically the same. It's similar to In Water ending except before James drives himself and Mary's corpse to Toluca Lake, he is comforted by her presence and breaks down at the guilt and emotions he had been carrying, following Mary's murder. He looks at the letter but can't bring himself to read its content before drowning himself.
@Room302SAH then why would he ask "will you wait for me?" If he plans on driving into the lake like in water ending, that's a question reserved for someone who still wants to keep living for a whil
This is so much better than the final version. The teardrop + Mary's hand looks better in this.

Yes! I've noticed this from the first meeting scene when she touched his shirt!
I had hoped someone else noticed that, I was so confused why all 3 of those fingers were completely even
Wait... she has weird fingers in the FIXED version ??
@@leedunkin3338 Yep!
Yoooo the sound of Mary's hand when she touches James' stubble is UNBELIEVABLE.... THE SOUND DESIGN IS UNBELIEVABLE....😱😭

Wait why would they remove the letter from this ending?! Nooo!! if they had left it in this would’ve been my favorite by far.
??? The letter is in the ending
What you mean? The letter was always there?
It’s because James doesn’t read the letter. He jumps out of the car.

The audio during the black scene is the same in Water and Stillness. So unless you're suggesting he jumped out in both, he commits suicide in both.
@@govind.m86then "will you wait for me" is a badly written and deeply confusing screen line. I'm yet to be convinced.
Who was the one who appears here? Mary or Maria?
