thanks for this video. I rec'd a free tiller the other day and it runs like a top, but there is a noise in the gearbox. Based on my initial inspection and some other videos that didnt seem to describe my problem, I have concluded that your video acurately describes my problem. I dont have a lathe either, but I do have a shopsmith that I can use as a lathe. S I am going to tear apart my unit and see if I have the same problem. Not going to buy any new parts if I can fix the ones I have. Resourceful is the word that comes to mind. New subscriber as well.

If you caught it soon enough you may be able to avoid the lathe part of the job.
Reassembled transmission case but is there any info on how freely the gears should turn?
