+Big John Nice big John. I'll be reviewing the Whites TRX next, also waterproof and some say better but a bit more money too. I like them both and would beat myself up trying to decide between them
Sure its a capable pointer jaymo but not American made. Just a thought for those who care. Great review pal. Thanks for takin the time to make and post much appreciated. Carry on
Nice unbiased review, JayMo. Seriously. I gotta wonder about the Li battery's longevity. When it finally gags, you're done. Also, it seems like it's a little more complex than a PP should be (modes) ; the time to change modes seemed to be long. Waterproof, that's great! Overall, I'm thinkin' mehhhh. Let's see that Whites now! Oh, I almost forgot- a proofreader for their packaging woulda caught LENGTH spelled wrong. Not a confidence builder, for me, at least. But, thanks for putting this out there buddy. 57
nice having a space to store small items....wish they would make a pin pointer that can toggle from full detection of the coil portion to just the tip detection...that rechargeable battery assures you that if you use it often you'll need to replace it as it will hold less and less of a charge until it fails when it ages...
+BIG61AL True Big Al, I'm sure they could replace it cheaper than a new unit but I see your point. I'd wonder how hard would it be to wire up a 9 volt battery plug to the circuit board.... or (cuz it's 3.7 vdc) a dual AA pack.
I know it has been a long time my diggin brotha. If it wasn't for your channel and Tarheel diggings channel probably would have never found the Stealth diggers and the Hoover boys who have both blown up. Enough of the B.S I have a Garrett carrot took it to a stream recently hasn't worked since. took it apart water came in through a slit on the button. I was on the phone with K.K and he was like just buy another one while I was in our local distrib. But anyway it was clean in side wouldn't work even after drying it out. but now one of the 3 wires the laminated ones came off soder. It has to be a blown circuit. Would you or do you have the time to mess with. if or if not let me know???? I will send some money up with and a few decent finds. For your efforts and awesome videos you share!!
+Bharley57 west Thanks bud, the Li one is about $129. The non Li is $125ish, the Diver (100ft waterproof) is $165ish and the non waterproof standard Xpointer is $90.
Thanks for the good info NH, I got mine in the mail yesterday. It's now fully charged and I'm about to go out and use the Xpointer in a hunt.
Thanks for the great review. I'll be getting a waterproof pinpointer in a few weeks, and now I know which one I'll be getting.
